- Joe Marler and James Martin vow to find the VIP lift defecation culprit at Twickenham
- The incident occurred during an exclusive £1,250-a-ticket rugby hospitality event
- CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained and investigations are ongoing
Celebrity Traitors star Joe Marler is said to be ‘hunting down’ a rugby fan who left a nasty surprise at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham.
The former England player, 35, is going to have to put all his traitor-detecting skills to use if he wants to track down the man who pooed in a VIP lift at his swanky event on Saturday.
Hosting a £1,250-a-ticket hospitality suite alongside TV chef James Martin for England’s historic win over New Zealand, the pair were left ‘shell-shocked’ after the horrible find was announced.
James, 53, cooked a four-course menu for his and Joe’s paying guests at the event.
However, after the chef was handed CCTV footage of the incident, both he and Joe have since vowed to find the culprit.
A source told The Sun: ‘England had just beaten New Zealand and everyone was on a massive high and then, out of nowhere, James came on stage where Joe was chatting with rugby stars including Warren Gatland and he looked pretty shell shocked.
‘He then announced that someone had done an enormous poo in the lift and that he had just been told about it. Some people were laughing their heads off, but others looked horrified.’
Initially, it is said that James joked that his co-host Joe was responsible.
The source continued: ‘He then told everyone in the suite that he had been handed the CCTV footage and is going to find out who had the audacity to drop a log in the lifts.’
The duo’s suite, which they launched in November 2024, includes unlimited Guinness as well as interviews with rugby stars after the game.
The England rugby team still managed to storm to victory on Saturday, however, with a 33-19 win over New Zealand.
This comes after Joe recently revealed his ‘true feelings’ after being voted out of the Celebrity Traitors final by Nick Mohammed .
In the final episode of the hit BBC series, Nick, 45, banished Joe, 35, after thinking he was a Traitor.
Appearing on Saturday Kitchen, Joe told TV chef Matt Tebbutt, 51: ‘I was heartbroken.’
He went on: ‘He didn’t stick to my plan. He went with his gut, which is a shame.’
But Joe admitted that despite all this, he couldn’t help adoring Nick: ‘But I still was so in love with him, because that little dicky bow, his little face, the three little love hearts he put on my name.
‘Although in that moment I was heartbroken, I was like, “aww”.’
