Celebrity Traitors star reveals four-year-old daughter’s brutal message to Alan Carr after murder

Paloma Faith has opened up about her shock exit from Celebrity Traitors – and the hilarious but brutal reaction her four-year-old daughter had to Alan Carr after he ‘murdered’ her on the hit BBC show.

The singer, 44, joined Callum Scott and Stephen Mulhern on The One Show sofa tonight and spilt the reason her once dear friend Alan Carr is no longer allowed in her house.

‘My four-year-old turned to me this morning and said: “Mama, I don’t like Alan anymore, he can’t come to our house.”

Paloma shares her two daughters with ex-husband, French artist Leyman Lahcine.

She became the first celebrity to be eliminated in the dramatic opening episodes.

The London-born singer explained to hosts Alex Jones and Lauren Lauverene that she felt ‘humiliated and embarrassed’ by how quickly her time in the castle came to an end.

‘I psyched myself up,’ she said. ‘I brought six suitcases of clothes! I was ready for a fashion parade!’

Paloma admitted she had gone into the game optimistic and ready for the psychological challenge, but Alan’s betrayal left her stunned.

‘There’s no one as devastated as me,’ she confessed.

‘My default setting is forgiveness, but I don’t forget.’

The singer said her disappointment wasn’t just about being ‘murdered’ so early, but about the way it unfolded.

Alan, who was tasked with carrying out the first ‘murder’ in plain sight, had shared a playful moment with Paloma earlier in the episode — a gesture that, in hindsight, gave away his Traitor status.

Still, the singer insisted there were no hard feelings between them, revealing she even sent him a message of support before the episode aired. ‘I texted him good luck,’ she said with a laugh.

‘By next week, everyone will have forgiven him.’

However, not everyone was so quick to let Alan off the hook – especially Paloma’s daughter.

Paloma revealed: ‘He’s the only one my kids have met, so to them he’s Mummy’s friend.’

Alex Jones, co-host of The One Show, sympathised with Paloma, telling her: ‘He was tortured by it.’

Alan himself has also spoken publicly about how guilty he felt, admitting that ‘murdering’ his real-life friend was far from easy.

But Paloma, ever the performer, took the blow in stride, reflecting thoughtfully on what the experience revealed about human nature.

‘We all love our abusers a bit,’ she joked, adding a dose of humour to the awkward betrayal.

The comment drew laughter from the studio, but underneath it was a truth about how intense the game can be on the inside.

The Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer went on to explain that she’d been genuinely excited to be part of the show, seeing it as a fun opportunity to test herself.

‘I’d psyched myself up, I was so ready,’ she said again, smiling ruefully.

Paloma has since hit back at online trolls who mocked her short run on the series, saying it’s perfectly reasonable to be disappointed.

‘It’s okay for me to say it’s not ideal,’ she said. ‘I can still be proud of doing it and think, ‘that didn’t go the way I hoped.’

For Paloma, the game might be over, but her reflections on it have made waves far beyond the castle walls.

As one viewer, @mandymoo100, wrote on X: ‘Paloma Faith is a breath of fresh air on The One Show, such a shame Alan killed her, Celebrity Traitors has lost a gem!’

Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One on Wednesday, October 15, at 8pm.
