Charlie Sheen Makes Major Announcement After Keeping Away From the Limelight

Charlie Sheen Announces Memoir Chronicling Career and Personal Struggles

Actor Charlie Sheen is preparing to release his first memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” which will hit shelves in fall 2025, People exclusively confirmed. The book, published by Gallery Books, offers an unfiltered look at Sheen’s life — from his early days on set with his famous father to the peaks and pitfalls of fame.

Known for his roles in films such as classic 80’s films such as “Platoon,” “Wall Street,” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” as well as hit TV series like “Two and a Half Men” and “Spin City,” Sheen has been a household name for decades. But the memoir, written in Sheen’s voice from his own perspective, offers a deeply personal narrative that extends well beyond his on-screen success.

A Candid Look Behind the Fame

In the upcoming memoir, the 54-year-old actor shares deeply personal recollections about his Hollywood upbringing, addiction, and relationships. Among the stories included are moments from his youth spent making home movies with longtime friend Sean Penn and navigating the film industry as the son of actor Martin Sheen.

“My stories have been told for far too long through the eyes and pens of others,” Sheen said in a statement. “I think you’ll agree, it’s time to finally read these stories directly from the actual guy.”

Gallery Books unveiled the memoir’s cover and described the project as both “heartfelt” and “hilarious.” The publisher also praised Sheen’s transformation, noting that he’s nearly eight years sober and sharing details of his recovery.

“Now nearly eight years sober, Charlie writes candidly of every detox, retox, drug deal and adventure along his challenging journey to freedom,” said Jennifer Bergstrom, Senior Vice President and Publisher at Gallery Books, in a statement.

She added: “We are so proud to share his story. His talent as an actor is now matched as a writer on every page.”

In addition to chronicling his rise to fame and battles with addiction, the memoir will explore the impact of his divorces and time spent in the public eye. A statement provided to People mentioned that Sheen reflects on “coping with the chaos of divorces and drugs.”

The book aims to present a full picture of the actor’s life — both the triumphs and the turbulence —as a “candid portrait of the complicated, controversial and one-of-a-kind” star.

“The Book of Sheen” will be released on Sept. 9, 2025, and is now available for preorder wherever books are sold.
