Actor Peter Greene was reportedly found dead with injuries on his body.

The Pulp Fiction star, who was also known for his roles in The Mask and The Usual Suspects, died aged 60.

Greene’s death was confirmed last week by his manager Gregg Edwards, who described his colleague as ‘truly one of the great actors of our generation’.

He told the New York Post: ‘His heart was as big as there was. I’m going to miss him. He was a great friend.’

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources say the actor had ‘some injuries’ on his body, but ‘it’s undetermined what caused the injuries’.

The medical examiner is still investigating to determine a cause and manner of Greene’s death.

His manager had been told about music playing in Greene’s New York apartment for over 24 hours, which led to a wellness check.

Police say Greene was found unresponsive on December 12 at around 3:25pm, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Post reported that police do not suspect foul play.

A neighbour told the New York Daily News [via Daily Mail] that Greene was found lying facedown on the floor with a facial injury, alleging that there was ‘blood everywhere’.

His manager recalled talking to him on December 10, with Edwards preparing for hernia surgery, and Greene due to have an operation to remove a benign lung tumour.

‘He sounded OK,’ he told The Post. ‘He was a little nervous about the operation going in, but he said it wasn’t super serious’.

He added: ‘We’re good friends. I love the guy … We were friends for over a decade.’

Greene, who is surviving by a brother and a sister, never married and did not have any children.

He ran away from home aged 15 and started living on the streets of NYC, as he began struggling with heroin and cocaine addiction.

Greene started to deal drug himself, but in 1996 he sought treatment for his addictions after attempting to take his own life in March that year.

At the time, he told Premiere that he had to hide in theatres to escape other drug dealers trying to kill him, which led to him discovering the world of acting.
