Chuck Norris’ family have denounced ‘untrue’ social media posts about the late star’s health, just two weeks after his death.
The action actor died at the age of 86 on March 19, 2026, in Hawaii, having been rushed to hospital in a medical emergency.
AI clips have since appeared online, claiming to share details of his death and the circumstances around it, which the family have now addressed.
They wrote: ‘We are aware that since Chuck’s passing, there have been a number of AI-generated videos and posts circulating online that contain false and misleading information regarding the circumstances of his passing, his health history, and who was present.
‘These claims are entirely untrue. This includes fabricated reports of past medical issues, as well as false narratives surrounding family relationships.’
When announcing his passing, the family said they wished to ‘keep the circumstances private’ but acknowledged his death was ‘sudden’.
In a plea to fans, the family asked them ‘not believe or share any information unless it comes directly from the Norris family or an official family representative.’
Norris’ family included wife Gena O’Kelley, 62, who he married in 1998, and his five children: Mike, Eric, Dakota, Danilee, and Dina.
‘Thank you for your understanding and for continuing to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers,’ the post concluded.
They announced his death last month, after reports Norris had been rushed to hospital but was in ‘good spirits’, according to TMZ.
In a tribute, the family shared: ‘To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family.
‘He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.’
Weeks before the martial artist had celebrated his 86th birthday, posting a montage of him training and joking ‘I don’t age. I level up.’
He wrote: ‘I’m grateful for another year, good health and the chance to keep doing what I love. Thank you all for being the best fans in the world.’
The performer, whose silver screen roles have included Delta Force and The Expendables sequel, went on to write: ‘Your support through the years has meant more to me than you’ll ever know.’
After his death, co-star Sylvester Stallone penned a tribute calling Norris ‘All American in every way’ and a ‘great man’.
‘I’m so sad to hear that my Karate instructor and friend Chuck Norris has passed away. He will be forever missed,’ wrote Priscilla Presley.
US President Donald Trump also paid tribute to the ‘really good, tough cookie’ who he noted was a ‘great supporter’.
