Jacqueline Falk, the daughter of legendary actor Peter Falk, has passed away at the age of 60, TMZ reports.

The report further states that Jacqueline committed suicide in her Los Angeles home on Monday, April 27, and it’s unclear at this time if she left a note. PEOPLE further reports that the body has been released as the investigation into the passing continues.

Jacqueline is the daughter of Peter and Alyce Mayo, with the star couple having married in 1960 and going on to adopt two daughters. She mainly remained out of the public eye. Her sister Catherine, became a private investigator.

“This is heartbreaking. May she rest in peace. May we heal from whatever is eating us up inside, the things we’re not talking to anyone about,” a fan wrote.

“That’s very sad. I hope that she can rest eternally beside him,” another fan stated.


Peter Falk Passed Away In 2011

Falk, who was known for his iconic role as the detective in “Columbo,” passed away in 2011 at the age of 84. He passed away in his Beverly Hills home after living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Along with Columbo, he starred in “The Princess Bride,” “The Great Race,” Robin and the 7 Hoods,” and “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.” However, it was his role as Lieutenant Columbo that earned him 4 Emmys and a Golden Globe Award throughout his career. He also became the first actor to be nominated for an Academy Award and an Emmy Award in the same year, managing to do this twice.

Falk and Jacqueline Falk’s mother, Alyce Mayo, met while attending Syracuse University and were married until 1976. She passed away in 2016 at the age of 58.

Following his marriage to Mayo, he married Shera Danese, and the two were together until the actor’s passing, in which his headstone reads, “I’m not here. I’m home with Shera.” Danese became Falk’s conservator in 2009 due to his Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis. She also served as a guest star on numerous episodes of “Columbo.”

Following his passing, Falk received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013.
