Martin Short’s daughter, Katherine, tragically passed away in February at the age of 41.
And now, new information has come out regarding Short’s concern ahead of her death, with TMZ reporting that the comedian called a friend to ask them to check on his daughter because he hadn’t heard from her in over 24 hours.
The outlet received Katherine’s autopsy, which was released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, detailing how Short helped police find his daughter, who was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Specifically, “investigators say Martin asked a friend to go to Katherine’s Los Angeles home, where they found a note on the bedroom door, which was locked.”
As a result, the friend called 911, which resulted in the tragic discovery.

A third neighbor explained that Katherine would sit on her porch from time to time and always seemed friendly, waving and saying “hi.”
