The leading star of David McNally’s cult 2000 comedy-drama “Coyote Ugly,” Piper Perabo, has revealed she’s still in touch with her castmates over 25 years after the movie released.
Perabo is now 49, but was 23 when “Coyote Ugly” came out. Her castmates in the movie included Adam Garcia, Maria Bello, Melanie Lynskey, John Goodman, Izabella Miko, Tyra Banks, and Bridget Moynahan.
Per IMDb, the film’s plot is as follows: “Aspiring songwriter Violet Sanford (Perabo), after getting a job at a women-run NYC bar that teases its male patrons, comes out of her shell.”
In an exclusive interview with People, tied to her partnership with skincare company Bliss, Perabo told all about which co-star she’s recently been in touch with.
Piper Perabo Recently Saw Bridget Moynahan
Regarding who she’s been in touch with in recent times, Piper Perabo told People, “I just saw Bridget Moynahan who’s in the movie.”
She continued, saying, “I saw her the other week. There was a big art fair here in LA, and she and I went and looked at paintings together. It’s not exactly what we were doing in the Coyote Ugly days, but…”
Perabo went on, adding, “She’s here filming. And so, I was like, ‘Do you want to go look at paintings?’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah.’”
The actress’ revelation that she’s still friends with her “Coyote Ugly” co-star over a quarter of a century after the movie hit theaters is testament to the idea that working relationships can last for a long time. It’s a heart-warming thing to know.
Perabo and Moynahan Are Both Still Busy
Both Piper Perabo and Bridget Moynahan, 54, have been keeping busy in recent times.
On television, Perabo starred in the neo-Western drama “Yellowstone” until 2024. In 2025, she appeared in an episode of medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” and in the main cast of the spy thriller series “Butterfly.” She also appeared in the Canadian rom-com “Peak Everything” in 2025 (per IMDb).
As for Moynahan, she appeared in two episodes of police procedural series “Boston Blue” in 2025 and 2026, respectively (per IMDb).
In a 2025 interview with The Hollywood Reporter at San Diego Comic-Con, Perabo spoke about the possibility of a sequel to “Coyote Ugly” being produced.
The star said, “Thereâs a lot of cooks in the kitchen right now, but things are moving around,” adding that “some people” who initially didn’t think a sequel would be something audiences “need” have also had a change of heart, saying, “Theyâre like, âOh, well I wanna be in it.’”
It would certainly be interesting to see how a sequel to “Coyote Ugly” would play out. We’ll eagerly await the possibility of one being produced.
