<p id=”par-1_51″>Before their fallout, Dame Dash and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/jay-z-reveals-reason-not-social-media.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Jay-Z</a> were close friends and business partners who co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records in 1994 alongside Kareem “Biggs” Burke. Dash acted as Jay-Z’s manager and handled negotiations to build <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/rappers/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>the rapper</a>‘s career. Their partnership dissolved in the early 2000s due to business disagreements and personal differences. </p>
<p id=”par-2_23″>But something Dash wants to clear the air about now is the rumor that he once tried to pursue Jay’s future wife. </p>
<p id=”par-3_36″>During a recent interview on <em>The Art of Dialogue</em>, Dash insisted that he never tried to hook up with <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/beyonce-said-younger-self-f-woman-become.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Beyoncé</a> because he met her when she was 16 and always saw her as “a kid” after that.</p>

<p id=”par-5_39″>However, the music producer raised quite a few eyebrows with his follow-up comment that he would’ve have tried to shoot his shot with Bey’s Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland since the women are just months apart in age. </p>
<p id=”par-6_58″>Dash, who is 11 years older than Beyoncé and a year younger than he husband, was in a high-profile relationship with singer <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/1994-aaliyah-song-problematic-many-reasons.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Aaliyah</a> from the summer of 2000 until her death on Aug. 25, 2001. He later married designer Rachel Roy, but they divorced in 2009. Today, Dash is engaged to his longtime partner, Raquel “Rocky” Horn. </p>
