David Beckham has declared he ‘misses’ son Brooklyn after he didn’t join a family camping trip.
Last week the retired footballer rang in his milestone 50th birthday with a string of events, including a party at his and wife Victoria Beckham’s £10,000,000 home in the Cotswolds and a star-studded dinner at the three-Michelin-star restaurant Core in Kensington.
In the lead up to the big night, David also had a pre-birthday bash in Miami and a family lunch in Paris.
However, with the family sharing a string of photos from these events, many have noticed 26-year-old Brooklyn’s absence, which comes amid reports of a ‘feud’ within the brood, which also includes siblings Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13.
Although it’s unclear why the family has been divided recently, it has been suggested that Kim Turnball, Romeo’s new girlfriend, dated Brooklyn before she got into a relationship with Romeo, which has caused a rift between the brothers.
David has now shared a series of snaps from a recent boys’ holiday he undertook with his sons, with his eldest again being noticeably absent.
Posting on Instagram, David explained: ‘Six months ago I planned a trip with my boys at the start of last week to camp and fish for my 50th was so much fun.’
He then posted photos taken on the holiday, including them on a boat, inspecting their accommodation, hanging out by a fire and cooking.
A few hours later, he shared a selfie he’d taken with Romeo and Cruz, acknowledging Brooklyn’s absence.
‘Fun times in Scotland, he wrote.
‘You were missed,’ he added, tagging his son in the post.
Over the past few weeks, there’s been significant speculation about a reported fallout in the family, which also includes Brooklyn’s wife, Nicola Peltz, 30.
Although Cruz has shut down claims his brother and girlfriend ever dated, it has still been reported that there are ongoing tensions within the family.
TMZ has claimed that Brooklyn and Nicola have questioned if Kim has the right intentions when it comes to dating Romeo and that the couple have decided to avoid family events where she will be present.
This week a source also claimed Brooklyn was ‘disappointed’ in himself for not attending his father’s birthday celebrations at the weekend.
‘Brooklyn feels disappointed in himself for not attending David’s 50th birthday party. David was truly in his element surrounded by all of his family and closest friends, it was a great time all around,’ they told Metro.
‘He (Brooklyn) wants things to go back to how they were, but it feels as if the divide has separated the family deeply. Nicola isn’t pushing him to repair things either. He’s married now and his wife will continue to be his biggest focus,’ they said.
A source told The Sun a few days ago that David was ‘heartbroken’ by the snub from his son but was ‘putting on a brave face’.
