Demi Moore Honors Rob Reiner with Moving Tribute

Demi Moore shared a touching tribute to the late Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, on Monday, December 15.

In the Instagram post, Moore shared two images, with one being on the set of “A Few Good Men.”

“There are no words to truly express the unfathomable devastation of losing Rob and Michelle Reiner,” she began. “Our kids grew up together, we worked together, and as our lives intertwined personally and professionally I will always cherish the moments and memories of what we shared.”

Moore added, “They were amazing people and wonderful parents who gave of themselves to make the world a better place. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with their family, friends, and all that are affected by this tragedy.”


What We Know

Rob and Michele were killed on Sunday, December 14, in their Los Angeles home.

Their son, Nick Reiner, was arrested on the same day and is being held without bail. On Monday, December 15, the Los Angeles Police Department stated Nick was “responsible for their deaths.”

Reports surfaced after their passing that there was an argument between them and their son on Saturday during a holiday party at Conan O’Brien’s home.

TMZ reported it was a “very loud argument,” and it was ”loud enough for many others to hear.”

The couple had three children, and Rob had a daughter named Tracy with his ex-wife Penny Marshall.


Hollywood Reacts to the Sad News

Tributes continue to pour in ever since the news broke.

“The Princess Bride” actor Mandy Patinkin discussed the amount of pain he was in following the loss of his friend.

“I can’t breathe, but i’m breathing. I’m howling at the gods every moment. Then I talk to a friend or myself and quiet down and I realize the gods are not to blame, the tsunami of tragedy is the responsibility of human beings,” Patinkin shared.

“Stand By Me” actor Jerry O’Connell shared how he was taking the news in a heartbreaking statement.

“We’re all shocked. I can’t speak for them [costars Wil Wheaton and Corey Feldman], but for myself, I feel like a parent has passed, you know?” he said. “I just feel like a parent has passed.” 

Others have expressed with Rob and Michele meant to them, with Maria Shriver posting a lengthy tribute highlighting some of the moments she had with her two friends.

Reiner was one of the most influential directors in recent times. His hits included “This Is Spinal Tap,” “When Harry Met Sally…,” “Stand by Me” and “Misery,” showcasing a rare ability to move effortlessly between many different type of genres.
