Further details of Sydney Sweeney’s alleged breakup have emerged following her reunion with former co-star Glen Powell.
As rumors continue to swirl about her relationship with fiancé Jonathan Davino, it has been claimed that Sydney ‘didn’t feel right’ about going ahead with the wedding.
Sydney and Glen were previously met with intense scrutiny when they looked seriously cozy while filming rom-com Anyone But You in 2023, but insisted they were very good friends.
However, after it was claimed that the White Lotus actress, 27, had called off her nuptials to businessman Jonathan, they have made headlines once again.
Now, a source has claimed Sydney was the one to pull the plug on her engagement because ‘she’s not ready to settle down’.
An insider told People: ‘They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.’
The source added that Sydney was starting to feel ‘overwhelmed’ within her relationship.
They said while she is ‘in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago,’ this is what Sydney wants to ‘focus on right now’.
Meanwhile, in new pictures obtained by Instagram gossip account Deuxmoi, she and Glen could be seen enjoying a meal at Joe Leo Fine Tex Mex in Dallas, alongside a string of friends.
Sydney reportedly jetted out to Texas to attend the wedding of Glen’s sister, Leslie, and they rocked up to the rehearsal dinner at the restaurant.
The Twisters actor, 36, seemed in good spirits for the bash and looked smart in a green polo shirt, while his former castmate opted for a long-sleeved black outfit.
She is said to have joined his family for brunch during the trip, but he was reportedly absent for the meal.
But, before everyone gets too excited, an insider has claimed that they did not attend Leslie’s wedding celebrations as a couple.
According to TMZ, Sydney RSVP’d months ago, before she reportedly postponed her own big day, and has been joined by her best friend for the trip.
The source added that she is ‘very good friends with the Powell family’, and has been ‘very close’ with Leslie ‘for a long time’.
This isn’t the first time that the Euphoria actress has been met with dating rumors over her bond with Glen after they shared the screen in Anyone But You.
During filming, steamy pictures of the stars were leaked, but they both denied that they were anything more than friends.
Addressing the wild reaction from rabid fans, Glen later insisted that they were simply leaning into the rom-com vibes in order to sell the film.
‘The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry,’ he told the New York Times.
‘Sydney and I have a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry.
‘That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit — and it worked wonderfully.’
The pictures come after speculation swirled over Sydney’s own ceremony with fiancé Jonathan – who she has been dating since 2018.
The lovebirds got engaged in 2022, but there have been multiple reports that they have called things off, after claims that the bride-to-be had been staying solo in a hotel.
People Magazine reports that she also deleted a recent photo of them kissing from her Instagram page, and had been sharing pictures without her engagement ring.
Sydney, who has kept much of her romance behind closed doors, has yet to address reports regarding their postponed ceremony.
