Actor Rondell Sheridan, best known for playing Victor Baxter on Disney Channelâs âThatâs So Ravenâ, has been hospitalized with severe pancreatitis. The 66-year-old actor shared a video from his hospital bed on Instagram, explaining that his illness began while he was traveling on April 10.
âI was on the road and got sick, went to the hospital, and they thought it was gastric,â Sheridan said. After an initial misdiagnosis, further testing confirmed pancreatitis, leading to a nine-day hospital stay.
âI thought I was on the road to recovery, but I was just for observation,â he continued. âMy pancreas is inflamed and thereâs not much you can do about it but just wait for the inflammation to go down. I didnât realize that I was gonna be and will be out of work for quite some time.â
Although he was discharged, Sheridanâs condition didnât improve and required further hospitalization. He explained that his recovery will take time and extended rest, and that heâs been unable to work since mid-April. In response, he launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical and living expenses. âPlease go to the GoFundMe link in my bio and spread the word. Any donation you can give is greatly appreciated,â he wrote in the videoâs caption.
Support quickly poured in from fans and fellow entertainers. One user wrote, âGet well soon Mr. Baxter ⦠one of my favorite Disney Channel dads.â Another said, âPraying for you to get better soon, my favorite TV dad.â Actor Orlando Jones also commented, âGet well soon fam.â
Just a week before his hospitalization, Sheridan appeared on the âTea Timeâ podcast with his former co-star Raven-Symoné and her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday.
