<p id=”par-1_33″>More than a decade after Donald Trump left the boardroom to run for president, <em><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/former-rhony-star-bethenny-frankel-says-her-new-big-shot-series-is-different-from-the-apprentice.html/”>The Apprentice</a> </em>could be coming back to TV – with a different member of the Trump family as host. </p>
<p id=”par-2_40″>Amazon is considering rebooting the business-focused reality series, according to a new report from <a href=”https://www.wsj.com/business/media/amazon-discusses-apprentice-rebootwith-don-jr-as-a-potential-host-fe09e885″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Wall Street Journal</a>, with Donald Trump Jr. being eyed as host. The younger Trump appeared frequently alongside his father as a judge on <em>The Apprentice.</em></p>

<p id=”par-3_29″>The project is in the very early stages, and no one in the Trump family has been approached about the new show, which would stream on Prime Video. </p>
<p id=”par-4_42″>Amazon acquired <em>The Apprentice </em>back catalog when it purchased MGM in 2022. The company already has a cozy relationship with the president and his family. It recently spent $40 million to acquire and distribute <em>Melania, </em>a <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/melania-premiere-red-carpet-lacking-star-power.html/”>documentary about First Lady Melania Trump</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-5_33″>“Since our acquisition of MGM, we have had preliminary internal discussions about what’s next for <em>The Apprentice</em> as a property,” a spokesperson told WSJ, adding that the show is not in active development.</p>
<p id=”par-6_31″>Amazon has been making a concerted effort to develop programming designed to appeal to Trump supporters, per the WSJ. In addition to <em>Melania</em>, it’s also pursued more faith-based films and shows. </p>
<p id=”par-7_68″><em>The Apprentice </em>premiered in 2004 on NBC. Trump hosted the original series, as well as the spinoff <em>The Celebrity Apprentice, </em>until 2015. The show was a major hit for the network and helped bolster Trump’s reputation as a savvy businessman after a string of financial setbacks, including the bankruptcy of his Atlantic City casinos, and tabloid scandals It also set the stage for his 2016 run for president. </p>
<p id=”par-8_50″>“It was <em>The Apprentice</em>, arguably more than <em>The Art of The Deal</em>, that put forward the idea that he was any sort of leader,” Stuart Heritage wrote in <a href=”https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/nov/10/trump-the-apprentice-president-elect-reality-tv” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Guardian</a> in 2016, after Trump was elected, adding. “The stench of <em>The Apprentice</em> will permeate every aspect of the Trump presidency.” </p>
