Donny Osmond doesn’t share photos of his wife often. When he does, it’s usually a rare and special occasion.
The 68-year-old entertainer marked his 48th wedding anniversary on May 8 with a tender Instagram tribute showing himself and wife Debbie embracing outdoors with the sun setting behind them. Both look remarkably untouched by the four-and-a-half decades that have passed since their May 8, 1978, wedding at the Salt Lake Temple in Utah.
“When you get right down to it, life goes by fast. It’s hard to believe it’s been 48 years since I made eternal vows to my sweetheart in the Salt Lake City Temple,” Osmond captioned. “Together, we’ve built a life full of love, memories, and family â and I’d choose you all over again. I love you, sweetheart.”
The “Puppy Love” singer added a graphic to the photo with a wedding-ring icon and the words, “Celebrating 48 wonderful years with my best friend.”
More About Donny Osmond’s Life With Wife Debbie
The couple’s origin story is the stuff of pop culture lore. Osmond and the former Debbie Glenn â a Billings, Montana, native â first crossed paths as small children when her family recognized the Osmond brothers from “The Andy Williams Show” and asked for autographs at an airport. He was 5. She was 3.
They reconnected as teenagers, when Debbie was actually dating his older brother Jay. As Osmond has retold the story many times, the moment he knew came at an Elton John concert.
Three years of patient courtship later, the couple wed in 1978. They went on to raise five sons â Don Jr., Jeremy, Brandon, Christopher and Joshua â and now share 16 grandchildren, according to a Facebook post Osmond made in 2025.
Public glimpses of Debbie are rare, and that is by design. “We decided a long time ago that we prefer to keep our personal relationship and home out of the spotlight,” Osmond explained in a 2020 Valentine’s Day post on Insta. He has long credited her as the steadying force of his life. “Debbie has given my life stability. She keeps my feet on the ground,” he told People Magazine back in 2022.
Osmond Is Still Headlining in Vegas
Osmond is currently nearing the end of one of the most successful chapters of his six-decade career. His solo residency at Harrah’s Las Vegas, which launched in 2021, is currently slated to run through May 2026 and was inducted into Las Vegas Magazine’s Hall of Fame in January. The show earned Best Resident Headliner and Best Production Show at the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Best of Las Vegas Awards in 2023.
The act is certainly a trip down nostalgia lane, but Osmond has also incorporated some fairly impressive technology. In a now-signature segment, Osmond duets with a digital avatar of his 14-year-old self â animated using AI, with his real-life 14-year-old grandson, Daxton, providing the on-set performance.
Osmond, who won “Dancing with the Stars” Season 9 and finished runner-up on the inaugural season of “The Masked Singer,” told AARP in April that he has never felt better. “I love being this age,” he said. “I still act like a teenager â just ask my wife.”
