Dua Lipa is back in the studio after her lavish wedding and Euro summer honeymoon with her new husband, Callum Turner.
Over the past few weeks, the vacation queen has been sharing photos of her holiday looks on Instagram, wearing everything from Napoli football shirts to metallic bikinis.
But just because she’s no longer out of office doesn’t mean she’s going to let her fashion streak slide.
Just yesterday, the Grammy winner was photographed stepping out of the famed Electric Lady Studios in New York City, which has hosted everyone from David Bowie to Jimi Hendrix, who founded the musical hotspot in 1968.
While fans will be over the moon that new music from the star is likely imminent, it would be remiss to ignore the eye-watering cost behind Dua’s ‘casual’ work outfit.
At a glance, Dua looked the ultimate cool girl in a pair of frayed denim shorts, a white long-sleeved T-shirt and a backwards blue baseball cap.
However, dig a little deeper, and you’ll realise that this ‘I just threw this on’ look costs around £5,000 more than the annual UK salary for full-time employees. Big sigh.
Let’s unpack. First, there’s the Chanel Maxi flap bag, which retails at an eye-watering £6,610. Pair that with Dua’s Chanel £950 ballet flats — the star opted for the burgundy and light blue lambskin versions — and that’s already close to £8,000.
But Dua’s jewellery is where things get more expensive. Though not quite as pricey as Taylor Swift’s engagement ring, which some estimates range to be as high as $1.5 to $2 million, the Physical singer sported a Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori 18K yellow gold and diamond watch.
On Bulgari’s website, the watch retails at £36,932, while her Khaite Benny leather belt costs a cool £380.
All in, Dua’s studio look will have set her back a staggering £44,872. But with a net worth of £150 million, it’s pocket money.
Such a huge bank account will no doubt have come in handy when wedding planning.
In June, Dua and Callum tied the knot at Marylebone Town Hall before jetting off to the historic Villa Valguarnera in Sicily’s capital, Palermo, for a lavish three-day bash with family and friends.
The extravagant affair — which was also attended by fellow pop star Charli XCX and fashion icon Donatella Versace, to name a few famous faces — reportedly totalled £1.5million.
Despite the huge price tag, it didn’t go down well with locals, who made their feelings known about their town being taken over by celebrities.
Posters were splashed across walls and monuments, as well as spray paint graffiti, informing the newlyweds that Palermo is ‘not for rent’.
Dua later reportedly paid residents £5,000 as compensation for the inconvenience.
