Eamonn Holmes has been forced to apologise after using a vile racial slur to describe Kerry Katona’s cosmetic surgery live on GB News.

The former This Morning presenter, 65, was debating whether or not celebrities have set unrealistic beauty standards on the morning talk show with Kerry, 44.

However, after the former Atomic Kitten star showed off the results of her facelift one year on, Holmes left his talk show guests speechless by asking whether or not she looked ‘Oriental’.

Kerry explained her facelift by saying: ‘I had them done over a year ago now. You know all it was I could… it was making my eyes feel a bit heavy so I had an uplift. But what I don’t like is when…’

Interrupting, Eamonn asked: ‘And you don’t look Oriental or anything do you?’

As Kerry was left speechless, the other guest on the show and Eamonn’s fellow presenter Ellie Costello could be seen sharing uncomfortable looks.

Eamonn was then seemingly forced by show bosses to apologise live on air, which he did so reluctantly.

He said: ‘Apparently you’re not allowed to describe someone as looking oriental or… I don’t know how I would end up describing Kerry Katona if her eyes change shape.

‘I don’t know how I’m going to say does she look like someone from some other country in the eastern of the world… The world is ridiculous.

‘How you have to apologise for people… if she painted herself or… I don’t know I can’t get into this. But anyway.’

Before he could continue, his co-host Ellie added: ‘But Kerry looks beautiful.’

Eamonn then replied: ‘Kerry looks well,’ before adding: ‘I’m sorry if you don’t look well or we have offended you in any way or… oh I don’t know.’

Last year Kerry opened up about her decision to undergo Septo-rhinoplasty surgery to repair her damaged nose, which had collapsed and caused breathing difficulties due to past cocaine abuse.

After seeing the results, she said that she ‘burst into tears’ online, highlighting the significant impact it had on her self-esteem and physical health.

Following her nose job, she also underwent blepharoplasty with a brow lift to eliminate loose skin on her eyelids and rhinoplasty to restore her nose after past drug use.

Eamonn’s controversial comment on GB News is certainly not his first, after he appeared to face a ‘chorus of boos’ as he accepted best news award at the TRIC awards earlier this year.

The veteran presenter also caused controversy following his comments about 5G, where he claimed the mainstream media’s dismissal of it was suppressing information to fit a ‘state narrative’.

In 2020 he also refused to discount conspiracy theories linking 5G telecommunications masts to COVID-19 during the pandemic.

Earlier this year, he also sparked an investigation at GB News after a ‘young female producer was hit by his wheelchair’.

The former This Morning presenter, who joined GB News in 2022, was first spotted using a wheelchair late last year.

It came after years of ill health, first starting with a double hip replacement in 2016, before he slipped three discs in his back in 2021. He then underwent a back surgery that went ‘wrong’ in 2023, which left him needing to use a wheelchair.

In The Mail on Sunday, it was reported that a young female producer was ‘left bruised’ after being hit by Eamonn’s wheelchair, sparking an investigation at GB News.
