Elizabeth Taylor’s legendary love life has fascinated fans for decades. Now, the late Hollywood icon’s stylist and confidante, Vicky Tiel, is sharing intimate memories of Taylor’s greatest love — and the man she described as “the best in bed.”

Tiel opened up about Taylor’s relationship with Richard Burton, the celebrated actor she married and divorced twice. Her revelations come as the new Fox Nation docuseries “Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar,” executive produced by Kim Kardashian, reignites public interest in the screen legend’s glamorous and scandal-filled life.

Vicky Tiel Says Richard Burton Was Elizabeth Taylor’s ‘Lover for Life

Tiel told People there was no doubt about who Taylor considered her true soulmate. “Absolutely. No question about it. Her lover for life was Richard,” she said. The stylist recalled that Taylor approached love — and sex — with confidence and humor. “She was very fun, she took sex very lightly, she taught me a lot too; if something bad happens, you just roll your eyes, smile, and don’t worry about it. She would just always laugh and be happy, she was a very, very happy person.”

Tiel remembered visiting Taylor at her Bel-Air home shortly after Burton’s death in 1984, and seeing the actress surrounded by memories of him.

“She’s taking a bath,” Tiel recalled. “She said, ‘Well, come on in the bathtub.’ I go in the bathroom — there were about 20 framed photos of her and Richard around the tub. It was all pictures of her and Richard.”

Burton died from a brain hemorrhage at 58, but his love for Taylor endured. Tiel said he called her just days before his death to share a message. “He said, ‘I don’t think I’m going to live very long, and I just wanted you and Ron to tell Elizabeth I’ll always love her the most. I love her forever and ever.’”

Taylor and Burton’s Love Story Still Captivates Audiences Decades Later

Taylor and Burton’s romance remains one of Hollywood’s most famous. The pair met on the set of “Cleopatra” in 1963, where their on-screen chemistry spilled over into real life.

At the time, Taylor was married to singer Eddie Fisher, while Burton was married to actress Sybil Burton. Their passionate affair made global headlines and even drew criticism from The Vatican, which condemned their “erotic vagrancy.”

In “Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar,” archival clips show both stars recalling their first impressions of each other. “There was this strange, sphinx-like creature,” Burton said. “I thought she was the most unapproachable, unattainable and remarkable creature I’d ever seen.”

Taylor remembered falling for him instantly: “He was hungover and very vulnerable, and his hands were shaking. He asked me to hold a coffee cup up to his lips, and I was gone.”

Taylor was married eight times to seven men, including Burton, who remained her lifelong love even after their final divorce in 1976. “The thing with Richard just happened,” said Taylor’s assistant Jorjanne Strumme. “It was galvanic and explosive and undeniable.”
