Netflix viewers have spotted a major blooper in a fan-favourite show, and are shocked to have not noticed it before.

Prison Break ran for five seasons between 2005 to 2017, starring Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller as brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield.

For the uninitiated, it followed Michael’s elaborate plan to help Lincoln escape prison for a crime he didn’t commit and clear his name.

The series gained a loyal following and was nominated for several awards, with rumours of another spin-off emerging after fans were left begging for a sixth season.

But while they’ve been rewatching Prison Break on Netflix, some have picked up on a major blooper.

In one scene, Michael was unscrewing a piece of furniture in a prison cell, with audiences focused on whether he’d be caught or not, rather than what he was actually doing.

And on closer inspection, it appears he wasn’t actually doing anything at all.

In a quick filming slip-up, it could be seen he was just screwing thin air.

Sharing the clip on X, @BusayoOtebata wrote: ‘Michael done scam us for this episode,’ as it showed him twisting his hand around without a screw.

‘Omo, why I no notice this thing,’ @TheSilvapr commented.

‘No way I didn’t notice that ???????’ @icecoldbanger said, while @AdeyinkaSho echoed: ‘Ahhhhh oh noooo how did we not observed this.’

‘Scammed everyone,’ @GidiGambino laughed, as @_eidnam said: ‘Omg, don’t ruin it for me.’

Wentworth and Dominic are reportedly not returning for the rumoured spin-off (Picture: Fox-Tv/Kobal/REX/Shutterstock)

This comes after reports last year that Prison Break would be given a new lease of life with a spin-off programme, as Disney streaming service Hulu was said to be developing a new series based on the beloved drama.

However, the reboot will not feature Wentworth, Dominic or any of the original cast for that matter, and instead will follow different characters set in the same world.

Prison Break is available to watch on Netflix.
