‘Ginny & Georgia’ return, Broadway Comes to CNN – What to Watch This Weekend

For the first time in what seems like at least a week, there’s a bunch of new shows and movies heading our way. Even an awards show! Viewers can expect to have their heartstrings pulled in a multitude of directions whether they want to cry or laugh or be scared.

Check out everything you can watch at home this weekend.

“Ginny & Georgia” (Season 3) – Netflix

The Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry led “Ginny & Georgia” heads into season three with as much drama as ever. We have a nifty recap for your convenience here. You probably don’t want to miss out – especially after a massive cliffhanger in season two.

“Stick” – Apple TV+

Owen Wilson leads a show about a former pro golfer trying to help out a reluctant prodigy. Yes, it sounds a lot like the plot of the Wilson led “Cars 3.” Except this time Marc Maron is his best friend and not Mater.

“Power Moves” – Netflix

Shaq thinks he can put Reebok back on top with the help of fellow NBA star Allen Iverson. But they need to find the next big player. Hopefully, Angel Reese is the one. This docuseries is set to show how the laces get tied.

“Phineas and Ferb” (Season 5) – Disney+

The boys are back in town! Taking place a year after the series left off ten years ago, “Phineas and Ferb” aims to be more of the same.

“Predator: Killer of Killers” – Hulu

Animated horror anthology and prequel to a separate Predator film, “Predator: Badlands,”  “Predator: Killer of Killers” will take viewers across different points of history as the famed alien hunters do their thing. Director Dan Trachtenberg has made the franchise his own (this movie is a followup to his 2022 Comanche based “Prey”) and people are loving it.

“Good Night and Good Luck” – CNN, Max

A Tony nominated show starring George Clooney is about to be broadcasted live on CNN. It sounds too good to be true but it is in fact true. Based on the Clooney starring, written and directed movie of the same name, the play follows CBS journalist Edward R. Murrow during a particularly perilous time in the 1950’s. News aficionados will enjoy.

78th Annual Tony Awards – CBS/Paramount+

Fans of Broadway will be happy to see the award show that celebrates that very medium is set to air live this Sunday. The 78th Tony Awards are set to enchant as much as possible with show stopping performances – including a return to “Hamilton” – as Cynthia Erivo shepherds one of the most magical evenings.
