Gigi Paris finally broke her silence concerning her very public breakup with Glen Powell and addressed the rumors about his romance with Sydney Sweeney during a June 10 episode of the âToo Muchâ podcast with host Emma Klipstein.Â
Paris and Powell dated for nearly four years before calling it quits in April of 2023 amid rumors that Powell and his âAnyone But Youâ co-star Sweeney were getting very cozy together off-screen.Â
âI could either pretend like I was going along with everything and have everyone wonder, like, ‘Are they hooking up? Are they not hooking up? Is she okay with this?ââ Paris explained. âOr stand up for myself and say, ‘No, I’m actually not okay with this, and I’m walking away.’ So that’s what I decided to do…I was shattered.â
What Led to Gigi Paris and Glen Powellâs Breakup?
On the âToo Muchâ podcast, Paris admitted that things between her and Powell had begun to deteriorate about six months before they officially split. Powell played it off as though he and Sweeneyâs closeness was simply good publicity for âAnything But You,â the rom-com in which they co-starred. He told The New York Times, âThatâs people wanting whatâs on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit â and it worked wonderfully.âÂ
But Paris wasnât buying it. “I just wanted respect, especially if it’s gonna be public,” she explained. “Like, just don’t make a fool out of someone you’ve been with for over three years talking about forever with ⦠I felt like I was just fed to the dogs.âÂ
Paris also took issue with the fact that Powell did nothing to quell speculation about he and Sweeneyâs supposed romance. â…you just need to stand up and say, ‘No, I would never cheat on my girlfriend. I wouldn’t do that.’ That’s all that needed to be said. And that wasn’t said.â
What Has Sydney Sweeney Said?
For her part, Sweeney seemed aligned with Powell in trying to attribute their flirty behavior to giving the fans what they wanted. âGlen and I donât really care,â she told Variety in 2023. âWe have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much,â adding, “They want it. Itâs fun to give it to âem,â regarding their fans and the media.Â
But when Sweeney and her fiancé Jonathan Davino called off their engagement in March of 2025 not long after she attended a wedding with Powell, it only fueled more speculation. And according to Paris, a real-life romance between the two would be just fine with her. âI honestly hoped that they’d end up together, because I was like, at least it would make it worth it for me, you know?â she said in her âToo Muchâ interview. âI hope they are in love or whatnot.”
