Gordon Ramsay has been a chef for forty years, and in that time, he’s eaten some pretty gross stuff.

Who could forget when he tried the Sardinian delicacy Casu Marzu – a cheese that contains live fly maggots – or the fermented shark that made him throw up?

Still, as revolting as the 59-year-old chef may have found these foods, at least they were food.

Which can’t be said for what Gordon found inside a dish on a recent episode of MasterChef US.

In the new series of MasterChef: Global Gauntlet, contestants were tasked with creating stadium food for their culture and heritage ahead of the World Cup.

Nora, who was representing team Africa, whipped up a delicious-sounding haddock and maakouda sandwich with chermoula mayo and Mediterranean salad.

Sadly, there was an unexpected ingredient lurking in the posh fish sarnie: a Band-Aid (or a plaster to those of us in the UK).

The sticking plaster was spotted by judge Tiffany Derry, who couldn’t help but gasp, shouting ‘oh my lord’ when she realised Nora’s mistake.

Gordon, however, who’d had a bite of the sandwich, had a much stronger reaction.

The Hell’s Kitchen star immediately started gagging as though he was about to vomit while Nora tried to apologise.

‘We’re eating Band-Aids now, what the f**k is going on?’ he asked.

‘I am very overwhelmed,’Nora explained in a piece to camera, revealing how the bandaid ended up in the food.

‘I’m running like a chicken with its head cut off. I’m running back to get tomatoes, then running back to get olives. My brain is not braining.’

While Nora was running around, she sliced her finger and received a band-aid from a medic.

In the chaos of the competition, however, the bandage came loose, prompting her to get a fresh one.

Sadly, Nora didn’t notice the original Band-Aid had ended up in the food until Tiffany spotted it.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Nora was eliminated from the competition after the accident.

‘I served a bandage to Gordon Ramsay, what do I expect? Beyond the bandage, I was not satisfied with how I executed the dish, but I’m still proud of myself,’ she said.
