Gordon Ramsay’s beef with Brooklyn Beckham could be about to escalate thanks to a new business venture.
The Hell’s Kitchen star, 59, and his wife, Tana, are famously close with David and Victoria Beckham, and their kids have practically grown up together.
So, it’s probably unsurprising which side Gordon chose when Brooklyn put his parents on blast with a tell-all Instagram statement in January, in which he accused them of ‘controlling’ him from an early age and trying to ruin his romance with wife Nicola Peltz, 31.
Previously, Gordon expressed his hopes that time could heal Posh and Becks’ relationship with their eldest, and while he respected the budding chef for ‘forging his own way’, he added: ‘I think it’s only going to be a matter of time before Brooklyn takes a good look at himself.’
While 27-year-old Brooklyn did not respond to his remarks, he did unfollow the long-time family friend on Insta in a clear snub of his reminder to not forget ‘where he came from’.
And now, Gordon has made his next move, with reports claiming that he’s set to launch a brand to rival Brooklyn’s.
According to The Sun, Gordon has trademarked Hotter Than Hell by Gordon Ramsay, the name of the spicy relishes he uses in his restaurants to give his dishes a kick.
This has fuelled speculation that Gordon will also be selling bottles of the sauce to customers, which means he’d be competing with Cloud23, the hot sauce brand Brooklyn launched in 2024.
‘If Gordon is launching his own sauce, he’ll be going up against Brooklyn in that market,’ said an insider.
‘Things will get spicy if they end up clashing over it.’
Since setting up his brand, Brooklyn’s Cloud23 Instagram page has clocked up 92,000 followers. He regularly posts recipe videos, offering inspiration on how to use his two sauces, Sweet Jalapeño and Hot Habanero, which he sells at Whole Foods in the US and the UK and online for £15 a bottle.
Former photographer Brooklyn named his company when things were far more amicable with his dad, as Cloud23 was named in honour of the number 23 jersey Becks wore when playing for Real Madrid and LA Galaxy.
Brooklyn previously declared the brand a ‘passion project’, telling Delish magazine upon its launch: ‘I’ve never worked so hard on anything in my life.’
‘I did my research, and I just felt like there was this hole in the market with luxury condiments, especially for a really good price,’ he added of his reasons for choosing hot sauce, which has since also branched out into clothing merchandise.
Meanwhile, Gordon is no stranger to raking in profits with items branded with his name, whether it be his range of cookbooks featuring hundreds of recipes or even apparel emblazoned with his famous expletives, available on his online store.
It was just two months ago that the restaurateur, who has over 100 establishments around the world, threw his support behind David and Victoria after their son declared he had no desire to reconcile with them.
Asked about how Brooklyn’s online takedown had impacted the A-list couple, Gordon said that Victoria was ‘upset’ and that he ‘knows just how much David loves Brooklyn’.
On their own dynamic, he added: ‘Brooklyn and I have messaged a little bit. Our relationship is solid. I love him.
‘His heart is incredible. But it’s hard, isn’t it, when you’re infatuated?’
In what was interpreted as a sly jibe at Brooklyn’s marriage of four years, Gordon added to The Sun: ‘Love is blind. It’s easy to get up on that rollercoaster and get carried away. But it will come back.’
He also said that ‘it’s going to be a matter of time’ before Brooklyn ‘understands just what his parents mean to him’.
Since officially cutting ties with his relatives – including his younger siblings – Brooklyn has remained in the States with actress Nicola and his billionaire in-laws, in front of whom they renewed their vows last summer.
While his mum and dad publicly reached out with ‘happy birthday’ Instagram Stories in March, Brooklyn has shown no signs of wanting to reconnect, instead implying that he doesn’t need them at all.
Last month, as he and Nicola marked their anniversary, Brooklyn penned a heartfelt message on her flowers, which she shared a snap of online.
‘Happy 4 year anniversary baby I love you with all my heart,’ the card read.
‘We have been though so much together but today we are stronger than ever and you are my best friend.
‘I can’t wait to grow old together with you. Love you so much x.’
Reps for Gordon Ramsay and Brooklyn Beckham have been contacted for comment.
