Heartbreaking New Details Emerge After House Fire Claims the Lives of Beloved NHL Reporter Jessi Pierce and Her Children

Longtime NHL reporter Jessi Pierce and her three children were tragically killed in a Minnesota house fire on March 21, and new details have been released regarding this horrible incident.

According to US Weekly, a warrant details what happened when the first responders arrived on the scene, sharing that the “fire was so intense that they were prevented from immediately entering the home.” They further added that officers “could see flames shooting up dozens of feet in the air,” with the house being described as “fully engulfed … with flames erupting from the center of the dwelling.”

When they tried to “breach the front door,” firefighters were met with “intense flames,” adding that it “prevented their initial entry into the dwelling.” When the fire was eventually contained, firefighters discovered Pierce and her three children were “in the main living area at the front of the address near the entryway.”


Authorities Have Ruled Out Arson In Jessi Pierce’s Passing

The White Bear Lake Fire Department shared a statement on Monday, March 23, providing an update on the fire and saying that they want to “assure the public that we are doing everything we can to find out what led to this tragedy.”

“We are in the very early stages of the investigation, and our preliminary findings have not led to any evidence that the fire was set intentionally,” they wrote. “The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The official cause and further information will be released once the investigation is complete.”

US Weekly further added that the warrant listed numerous items that authorities want to look into as the potential cause of the fire, including “flammables, candles, electrical wiring, battery-operated devices, heating devices, household appliances, any altered natural gas piping and vehicles on the property at the time.”


Jessi Pierce’s Husband Speaks Out

At the time of the devastating fire, Pierce’s husband, Mike Hinrichs, was out of town on a business trip. And in a press release shared by the White Bear Lake fire department on March 25, they provided an update.

“We have been in close contact with Mike to support him, his family and his friends,” they wrote. “He has asked us to share his request for privacy while he grieves and the rest of his family and friends navigate this unimaginable time.”

A GoFundMe was also set up to support Mike after the loss of Pierce and his children, and many people have donated. That includes top donations from the Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets, who both gave $10,000, as well as the NHLPA who donated $5,000.
