<p id=”par-3_57″>The ABC drama concluded its second season on April 7 on a major cliffhanger. In “Family Tree,” Morgan (<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/its-always-sunny-in-philadelphia-rob-mcelhenney-kaitlin-olson-reveal-story-behind-falling-in-love-set.html/”>Kaitlin Olson</a>) and Captain Wagner (Steven Howey) continued their investigation into the mysterious disappearance of Morgan’s ex, Roman, who was working as an FBI informant. They learn that he’s a suspect in the murder of a crooked <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/allyshia-guptas-claims-she-has-an-appointment-with-an-fbi-agent-for-a-polygraph-test-spencer-conley-tries-not-to-laugh.html/”>FBI agent</a>. </p>

<p id=”par-4_77″>When Morgan is attending her daughter’s art show (where we saw a shadowy figure who might have been Roman), she gets a call from Wagner, who tells her that he’s meeting up with someone who might have info about her elusive ex. Morgan heads to the park where the meeting is supposed to take place and discovers Wagner – with whom she shared a kiss in the previous week’s episode – bleeding out from a stab wound. </p>
<p id=”par-5_27″>The episode ended before revealing Wagner’s fate. Not even Olson knows what happens next, she told <a href=”https://www.tvinsider.com/1256707/high-potential-season-2-finale-wagner-alive-dead-morgan-roman/”>TV Insider</a>. But like viewers, she wants answers to the mystery.</p>
<p id=”par-6_70″>“I strongly believe that the Roman thing needs to reveal itself sooner rather than later, or people are going to start to get annoyed. People like me,” she said. “But it’s very up in the [air]. I’m not even giving you a spoiler or not because we don’t know yet. We don’t know. There’s probably a hospital close by, but boy, was [Wagner] stabbed a lot [with] lots of blood.”</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-steven-howey-is-leaving-high-potential”>Steven Howey is leaving ‘High Potential’</h2>
<p id=”par-7_39″>One thing we do know? Howey, who joined <em>High Potential </em>in season 2, won’t be back as a series regular for season 3. That’s not a huge surprise, as the actor only had a one-year deal with the show. </p>
<p id=”par-8_32″>However, that doesn’t necessarily mean Howey’s character is a goner. There’s a chance he could return in season 3 as a guest star in order to wrap up his arc, <a href=”https://deadline.com/2026/04/high-potential-steve-howey-leaving-nick-wagner-1236773341/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Deadline</a> reports.</p>
<p id=”par-9_24″>Fans reacted to Wagner’s uncertain fate on social media. While the character was divisive when he was first introduced, he grew on some viewers. </p>
<p id=”par-10_15″>“WAGNER BETTER BE ALIVE I started to actually like him,” one person commented on <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DW4U3B5CbPn/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-11_27″>“They better realize that the Captain is part of the main characters now! Why put him as captain, then create chemistry to kill him off?!” another wrote. </p>
<p id=”par-12_20″>“Please leave captain alive!!” someone else chimed in. “We need Morgan and him together at least for a little bit.”</p>
