How Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Are Striving to Keep Divorce Respectful: Parenting Plan Revealed

Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Parenting Plan Revealed

Hollywood superstar Nicole Kidman and former “American Idol” judge Keith Urban are keeping their family at the forefront as they navigate their divorce. Court documents obtained by People reveal that the couple has agreed to a parenting plan centered on their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

People report that the plan prohibits either parent from speaking negatively about the other in the children’s presence. It emphasizes the importance of encouraging the girls to feel loved and supported in both homes.

As part of the agreement, Kidman and Urban will also attend a parenting seminar within 60 days of the filing, underscoring their shared commitment to raising their daughters with respect and stability.

As per People, the court documents also confirm that Kidman will serve as the primary residential parent of the couple’s teenage daughters. She will have 306 days with Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, while Urban will have 59. The arrangement gives Kidman more than five times the number of parenting days her estranged husband has.

Neither parent will pay monthly child support, as Urban has already covered his obligations through a separate agreement.

Alongside her two younger daughters, Kidman is also the mother of Bella, 32, and Connor, 30, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise. The Oscar winner officially filed for divorce from Urban in Nashville on Sept. 30, the day after news of their separation became public.

Inside the Couple’s Split

An insider told People that Kidman “didn’t want this” and had been “fighting to save the marriage.” A source close to Urban said the country star has “been going through some stuff” and making “questionable choices” in recent months.

Kidman and Urban’s love story began in 2005 when they first met at a gala. A year later, they tied the knot in a candlelit ceremony in Sydney, where Kidman’s children Bella and Connor took part in the wedding. By 2007, the couple had settled into life in Nashville, where they raised their two daughters.

Despite the challenges, Kidman has continued to cherish her bond with her teenage girls. In a May interview with Allure, she shared: “Yeah, I’m very close to both my girls. I sit on their beds and discuss the most intimate things; I get to be their guide.”

She added, “If they want to tell me to be quiet, they can. I’m able to apologize to them. I’m able to stand up to them. I very much like the relationship we have. It’s nice to be able to say that.”

Sources previously told People that Kidman spent the summer inseparable from her daughters while Urban toured. She focused on preparing them for the new school year, enjoying time together at home in Nashville.
