Huge name ‘ruled out’ of Glastonbury after infamous 2023 set ended in chaos

It’ll be a whole lot of Summertime Sadness for Lana Del Ray fans, because it looks as though she will not be appearing at Glastonbury 2025.

The Mariner’s Apartment Complex singer, 39, has announced her 2025 tour slap-bang in the middle of Glastonbury dates, so an appearance is unlikely.

The American singer will be landing in the UK for her tour on June 23 in Cardiff, before heading to Glasgow on June 26, Liverpool on June 28, Dublin on June 30, and ending at Wembley on July 3.

While it is possible Lana could get to Glastonbury on June 27 or June 29 in between tour dates, it seems unlikely she will flit to a festival appearance at Worthy Farm between Glasgow and Liverpool tour sets, or between Liverpool and Dublin.

Glastonbury experts @TheGlastoThingy reckon while the stop over is ‘feasible’ she’s now officially ‘ruled out’ because of her tight schedule and big tour.

While Lana fans might shed a tear, some Glastonbury ticket holders didn’t seem to mind, as they harked back to her 2023 set which ended in a capella chaos when her sound was cut off after she arrived 30 minutes late to the Other Stage.

After the spontaneous music-free singalong, Lana told the crowd she was making her way down to see them, refusing to be escorted off stage as she posed for selfies with star-struck fans.

She apologised for being late midway through the scheduled set, blaming her hair for the delay.

‘I was so f***ing late and I am about to rush this set,’ she told the crowd.

‘If they cut power, they cut power, I’m super f***ing sorry. My hair takes so long to do.

‘Let’s keep on running the set as it’s supposed to go.’

‘After how she behaved in 2023 I wouldn’t have her back honestly,’ commented @Macainconcerts on the theory she’s now ‘ruled out’ of the 2025 line up.

‘Would they even have her back after last years sh*t show,? asked @inversebart, while @internetplague asked: ‘Didn’t she turn up late and half arse her set when she performed.’

However, some memories of the infamous 2023 Lana set are fonder than others, as at the time fans praised her for the iconic behaviour, while also blasting the festival for cutting her off.

‘After they cut her set, Lana Del Rey got 200k people to sing Video Games with her without the sound. Queen sh!t,’ said @aryastarkno.

A month after Glastonbury, Lana appeared on stage at BST Hyde Park and roasted the festival for her dramatic tech cut-off.

‘I think this is where I got cut off last time,’ she told the thousands who gathered at Hyde Park.

‘It’s worth it. Even if you get the power cut it’s worth it,’ she added as she performed hits from her 18-year career including Born to Die.

In 2025 Lana will be performing at festivals including Coachella – alongside Lady Gaga – as well as Reading & Leeds in the UK.

Tickets will go on sale for Lana’s 2025 tour on Friday November 29 at 10am GMT, and can be found at LiveNation, with a pre-sale ballot available here.

While it looks unlikely Lana is heading to the Pyramid Stage in 2025 – or any Worthy Farm stage for that matter – Glastonbury’s favourites to appear at the festival include Sam Fender, Olivia Rodrigo, The 1975, Fred Again, Sabrina Carpenter, Green Day, Rihanna, Eminem, Harry Styles and Billy Joel.

Glastonbury will take place from June 25 to 30, and fans have already got their tickets after it sold out in just over half an hour.

The only opportunity to nab tickets now is in the April resale, though there doesn’t generally tend to be too many of these up for grabs (though let’s see what the lineup is first…)
