Inside Her Brave Spirit To Battle Health Issues
A GoFundMe page was launched in November 2024 by her close friends to support Kirkland’s ongoing health challenges. They revealed that the actress had âfractured her four bones in her neck, right wrist, and her left hip,â and that âwhile recovering, she developed two separate life-threatening infections.â
Her friends explained that Kirkland had been struggling financially for years, noting that she lost most of her savings after receiving âbad advice from a financial advisor-business manager in 2007 during the market crash,â which wiped out âthe bulk of her investments and the money she made during the peak of her career.â
On Friday, November 7, her friends shared an emotional update on the page, writing, âThank you for all your love and support. Sally is grateful for your kindness and love. Sally is on hospice now and is resting comfortably. Please hold and send the light for Sally.â
That message came a little over a month after they posted another update describing her health struggles. âHi, Sally sends her love to everyone. It has been a challenging few months for Sally as her health continues to struggle,â they wrote on October 2.
âShe had a fall in the shower, when she was left unattended, injuring her ribs and foot, along with cuts and bruises. Sally is now receiving 24/7 care in a specialized facility that is providing wonderful safety and care. We are continuing to raise money to cover the gaps between income and care costs. Thank you for all the love, support, and care for Sally.â
