Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina have been targeted by a stalker, it has been reported.
The Luther star, 53, and his wife of six years, 36, were alarmed as the woman appeared at a series of private events in London, which they attended separately on different days.
Elba met model Sabrina Dhowre in 2017, at a jazz bar in Vancouver, while he was filming the survival movie The Mountain Between Us.
After hitting it off, the pair were married two years later, during a glitzy ceremony in Morrocco.
The actor and former Miss Vancouver are now said to be feeling ‘distressed’ after being subject to a stalking campaign by an unnamed female harasser.
She reportedly began targeting the couple in September and continued to do so up until October 21.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘These events were seriously distressing for Idris and his family.
‘He had no choice but to report it to the authorities because it had gone too far.
The tabloid’s source added: ‘When Sabrina was brought into it, that was clearly the final straw for him. He did what he felt he had to do to protect his wife, and his family.’
In addition to being followed to private events, it is believed that the couple have also been subject to cyber-stalking via their e-mail addresses.
It is reported that the police have now been involved in the investigation.
The Pacific Rim star has been married three times to date, starting with make-up artist Hanne ‘Kim’ Norgaard, from 1993 to 2003.
He was then married to lawyer Sonya Nicole Hamlin in 2006 – a marriage which lasted less than a year.
He shares daughter Isan with Norgaard, and son Winston with ex-partner and make-up artist Naiyana Garth, who he dated from 2013 to early 2016.
In 2023, the actor revealed that he had fathered a ‘secret son,’ who was 31 at the time of the interview.
Elba’s third child was subsequently named as Riaze Foster, an actor and Hollywood barber who appeared in his 2018 film Yardie.
Prior to meeting his current wife, Elba ruled out the possibility of marrying for a third time, telling Essence Magazine: ‘Am I ever gonna get remarried? I don’t think so. Yeah, I don’t think so. Marriage is an institution of sorts. And I’ve done it. It’s not for everybody.’
However, it seems as though third time’s the charm, and the pair have been living their best lives since then.
Last year, she seemed willing to share, too, penning a cheeky tribute to her man as she shared a glimpse of his suave new campaign with Calvin Klein.
‘Ladies and gentlemen…our husband,’ she wrote in a caption to her Instagram post, generously giving her followers a slice of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive 2018.
