I’m A Celebrity viewers were left covering their eyes on Wednesday night, as the ITV reality show aired a grim new challenge after the campmates had been split into rival factions.
The format pitted celebrity against celebrity in what might not be wholly unfamiliar territory to this showbiz-y lot.
All 12 of the campmates were thrown into the Bushtucker Trial, with each celebrity facing off against another after the public voted who would be their ‘rival’.

The challenge was presided over by Ant and Dec in the jungle clearing and featured a mixture of pig brains, fish guts and a tank of offal. If you can’t already tell, it was stomach-turning.
The worst of the challenges was awarded to former footballer Alex Scott and ex-EastEnders star Shona McGarty, who were voted to go head-to-head in Eye to Eye.
The aim of the game was to be the first to squeeze the juice out of a raw fish eye and fill a shot glass with it using only their mouths. Then, they had to drink the contents of the shot glass once it was full. Yuck!
Despite a close call in filling the shot glass, Alex was the first to down it in one and took first place.
However, if it looked a little too easy, she almost immediately headed for the sick bucket in the corner and vomited the fish eye contents back up.
The moment prompted viewers at home to dub it ‘disgusting’, with Angelic Marge writing on X (formerly Twitter) writing: ‘As a person who finds eyeballs disgusting, I can’t watch this one.’
Kerry echoed: ‘That has to be the most gross trial so far. Look at Ginge and Aitch’s reaction,’ as the pair were left gagging on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, @tidalsounds wrote: ‘That was the worst trial yet omg disgusting.’ Zak McLaughlin was nearly word-for-word writing: ‘That’s the most disgusting trial I’ve ever seen.’
It might have been worth it for Alex in the end, as she helped to clinch victory and her cohort headed back to the main camp, which was renamed Win City and decked out in new purple bedding.
It wasn’t so comfortable for the losing team, who were relegated to Doomsville, complete with floor-beds in a grey shade, and a meal of rice and beans.
The final live scene on the show confirmed that rapper Aitch and streamer Angry Ginge will face off in tomorrow night’s Bushtucker Trial.
