ITV fans are in for a treat this weekend with all episodes of a hit comedy drama landing on UK streaming.
Australian dark comedy thriller Bay of Fires first launched in 2023, with the second season hitting screens Down Under earlier this year, and now it’s our turn.
UK viewers can now binge the whole show now that season two has arrived in full on ITVX.
The show stars Marta Dusseldorp as Stella, who moves with her family to the fictious Mystery Bay, as she has to adjust to new surroundings and suspicious neighbours placed in witness protection.
The synopsis for the original series read: ‘Single mother of two Stella has no option but to move her young family to the last place on earth anyone would expect.
‘This town is a tiny community rife with simmering feuds, crime and sometimes, murder.’
Fans have admitted the show got them ‘hooked’, with some viewers heaping praise on the ‘unexpected twits and turns’ leaving them wanting more.
‘Bay of Fires is one of the freshest, most exciting shows I’ve seen to date,’ wrote Niltiac01 on IMBd, while marita-54015 added: ‘What a great mix of comedy and drama all filmed in beautiful locations.’
‘Bay of Fires is a fresh take on the dramedy genre with moments of high tension as well as witty dialogue that leaves your stomach sore,’ raved user virginiawoolf09.
‘Marta gives an incredible performance as the hapless [Stella] as she attempts to navigate family, moving house and murderous Russians.’
Viewers have praised the striking locations and cinematography to ‘capture the mood’, and others couldn’t get enough of Marta’s leading performance.
‘Unexpected twists and turns left me wanting more, much more,’ wrote adeneyc.
‘The central character played by Marta Dusseldorp shows believable emotion as her seemingly cosy corporate world is upended in an instant…the feeling of being on a runaway train to an uncertain and dangerous future prevails.’
While shaunmcale added: ‘I’ve only seen the first episode so far, but I’m already SUPER hooked. The show is beautifully shot, with stunning scenery of the Tasmanian coastline. The cast is also excellent, with Dusseldorp giving a standout performance as Stella.’
Bay of Fires season 1 and 2 is available to stream now on ITVX.
