Just weeks before reports emerged that Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley had separated, the Grammy-winning producer gave an unexpectedly awkward interview in which he seemed determined to avoid talking about his own wedding.
The Bleachers frontman, 42, appeared on Today in May to promote new music when the conversation inevitably turned to his 2023 marriage to the actress after the release of his song Dirty Wedding Dress.
Asked what his favourite memory from their New Jersey wedding was, Antonoff appeared momentarily stumped.
‘Oh, that would be impossible to think of,’ he replied before quickly adding: ‘Next question!’
The moment became even more uncomfortable when hosts asked if he had any wedding etiquette advice for engaged couples.
Rather than offering heartfelt marital wisdom, Antonoff joked that the key to a successful wedding was simply making sure ‘there’s enough drinks… just tons of alcohol everywhere.’
