Michael Jackson is being brought back to life by his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in the upcoming biopic “Michael” from Lionsgate and Universal Pictures, and the recently released trailer showcases Jaafar’s uncanny ability to talk just like the King of Pop.
The trailer dropped November 6, 2025, and in it, 29-year-old Jaafar nails Michael’s voice with the line “Can you lower the lights for me, please?” Listen below.
Fans fawned over the rising young star’s impression in the comments. One wrote, “When he spoke, I got goosebumps. Wow.” Another said, “Jaafar even nailed his uncle’s voice here!” to which someone else replied, “Yes, he did.”
Other fans took time to express their excitement about the movie. “That trailer gave me goosebumps! Love Michael Jackson, and love the fact his nephew is playing him. Who Is Jaafar Jackson’s Father?
Jaafar Jackson is the son of Michael’s fourth-oldest sibling, Jermaine. Jaafar and his brother Jermajesty are the youngest two of Jermaine’s seven children. People says the former Jackson 5 member welcomed the pair of brothers with Alejandra Loaiza, to whom he was married from 1995 to 2003.
Jermaine married for the first time when he just 19 years old, tying the knot with Hazel Gordy in 1973. The pair split in the late ’80s after having three children together: Jermaine II, Autumn, and Jaimy. Jermaine also shares two children, Jeremy and Jourdynn, with former girlfriend Margaret Maldonado. The exes dated from the mid ’80s to the late ’90s and never married.

Branca first began working with Michael in 1980, per the Sacramento Observer, and he is credited with helping the music legend make some major power moves, including acquiring the rights to a good number of songs from the Beatles valuable body of work catalog via his 1985 purchase of the ATV Music Catalog. The report says Michael once referred to Branca, who has also worked with music giants such as the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Dr. Dre, and the Eagles, as “the greatest lawyer of our time.”
