Jen Hatmaker Brings Raw Memoir ‘AWAKE’ to Life on Book Tour

Jen Hatmaker

Author and influencer Jen Hatmaker is finally peeling back the curtain on her shocking divorce and reimagined life in a new memoir, and she’s bringing it directly to her fans and followers.

Hatmaker is hitting the road for a book tour that features some big-name moderators including country legend Trisha Yearwood, “Today Show” host Savannah Guthrie, actress Yvette Nicole Brown and author Colleen Hoover. And fans are responding with enthusiasm, snapping up tickets and selling out stops.

Jen Hatmaker Enlists Both Dear Friends and New Friends on Tour

In an Instagram post, Jen Hatmaker shared, “I am ridiculously excited to announce who is joining me on my AWAKE Book Tour as moderators for our conversations and also as special guests for festival events and more. What a thrill.

Many of these women I’ve been lucky enough to know for years and call dear friends, while others are newer friends. But the through line is that these are all women I love learning from and listening to — and I’m so inspired by every single one of them.

I cannot wait to see you on tour!”

Jen revealed that book tour tickets come with a signed copy of “Awake,” writing, “I have been signing them for one million years with my janky surgery hand BECAUSE I LOVE YOU. 🩷”

‘AWAKE’ Details How Jen Hatmaker’s Life Came Crashing Down

The mother of five was a bestselling Christian author, blogger, podcaster and speaker with more than a million followers on social media and her own show on HGTV when her world came crashing down in 2020.

But while she’s taken her fans along on her journey to rebuild her life over the past five years, she’s said little about the cause of the crisis. Until now.

In a recent Instagram post, the author confesses, “I have never written to you like this, ever. I have never admitted as much as I’m admitting in AWAKE. And that absolutely includes my own contributions, the ways in which I was complicit, my own horrible patterns.

This is not a simple, tidy story.

I am trusting you to take what you need and leave the rest. I am trusting you to use my story to help make sense of your own story.

I wrote this to the furthest edges of my capacity — and now it’s coming to you very soon.

You’re about to read so much about me. It’s in there, but I feel ready for you to have it.”

“Awake” begins in the middle of the night in July 2020. Hatmaker wakes up to find her husband of 26-years in their bed, voice-texting another woman.

In her post announcing the book, Hatmaker wrote, “AWAKE is deeply personal. It is raw. It is unexpected. It was desperately hard to write. I wrote this in raw, real-time vignettes that span four decades.”

‘AWAKE’ : the Book, the Tour, the Details

“AWAKE” comes out September 23.

The book tour begins September 18 in Austin with moderator Trisha Yearwood.
