Despite the party, the mother of three wasn’t actually divorced yet. While the former<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/teen-mom/?swcfpc=1″> <em>Teen Mom</em></a> star filed for legal separation back in February 2024, she only got around to filing for divorce in May. It is true what they say, though; it’s better late than never. A judge just signed off on Jenelle Evans and David Eason’s divorce and restored her last name. While both parties are likely happy to be officially divorced, they still have some issues to work out.</p>

<p id=”par-2_80″>On July 11, 2025, a judge signed off on Jenelle Evans and David Eason’s divorce. The couple had separated in 2024 but <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/reality-tv/are-david-eason-and-jenelle-evans-divorced.html/”>had to wait a year</a> before they could officially file for divorce. This year was up in February, but Evans only got around to filing for divorce from her husband of seven years a couple of months ago. They have finally had their day in court, along with the divorce, a judge issued a name change for Evans.</p>

<p id=”par-3_93″>While the duo is officially no longer husband and wife, they still have some issues to attend to. According to <a href=”https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/14685376/teen-mom-jenelle-evans-officially-divorced-david-eason/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>the U.S. Sun,</a> they’ll continue to battle it out over custody of their daughter, Ensley, child support, and the division of marital assets. The home they shared, known as “the land,” is a key asset. Eason was ordered to submit to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jenelle-evans-has-requested-a-mental-health-evaluation-for-david-eason.html/”>a psychological evaluation</a> before he could see Ensley. Although the order was issued months ago, he’s still able to get that done. It’s unclear if that will factor into future custody hearings.</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-he-celebrated-with-a-new-tattoo”>He celebrated with a new tattoo</h2>
<p id=”par-4_84″>David Eason made sure to show up in divorce court with brand-new ink. The troubled North Carolina native took to social media last week to show off a new tattoo, effectively celebrating the end of his marriage. In an interesting twist, Eason opted to tattoo the name of <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/kenleigh-heatwole-tries-to-shade-jenelle-evans-again-sadly-it-isnt-working.html/”>his current girlfriend </a>on his neck while still married to Jenelle Evans. Eason documented the tattoo process on Instagram, concluding his photo carousel with an image of the final product. The small tattoo simply reads “Kenleigh.”</p>

<p id=”par-5_104″>While the tattoo is not offensive, not everyone is okay with it. Jenelle Evans didn’t take kindly to the new ink on her old flame. She claimed she thought it was “embarrassing” and that she had two name tattoos that she regretted. The body art is not Eason’s first tattoo, but the troubled former reality TV star never got around to getting ink for his ex-wife or the daughter they share. Fans were quick to point out that Eason has plenty of money to spend on his girlfriend and his tattoo journey, but no money to fight for the right to see his daughter.</p>
<p id=”par-6_73″>David Eason began dating Kenleight Heatwole just a couple of months after he moved out of the home he shared with Evans. Rumors have long suggested that Eason and Evans <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/sources-claim-jenelle-evans-and-david-eason-didnt-initially-plan-to-divorce-when-he-moved-out.html/”>were not initially planning to divorce, </a>but the drama escalated. Heatwole and Eason allegedly met at a bar. He now lives in her home. Evans moved on, too. She dated August Keen from May 2024 until December 2024. It did not end well.</p>
