Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston keeps herself fairly busy these days when it comes to acting. Now, the former “Friends” star has been tapped to star in a brand new show from Apple TV+. Called “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” this will be her second series on the streaming platform. Her other is “The Morning Show.”

According to Deadline, Apple TV+ has given the green light to the new show. Notably, this is based on Jenette McCurdy’s memoir of the same name. Jennifer Aniston will star in the new series as well as serve as one of the executive producers.

Jenette McCurdy and Ari Katcher will write, executive produce, and serve as the showrunners for the upcoming series. The other producers and entities include Sharon Horgan’s Merman company, LuckyChap, Jerrod Carmichael, and Erica Kay. The show will have 10 episodes.

The series will center around an 18-year-old actress who is a part of a hit show and her relationship with her mother, played by Jennifer Aniston.

The Book Came Out In 2022

There’s no word on when the “I’m Glad My Mom Died” show will premiere. Additionally, there are no casting announcements, except for Jennifer Aniston, who will play the mother character. However, Jenette McCurdy’s best-selling book came out in 2022.

According to Simon & Schuster, the book became both a number one New York Times bestseller and a number one International bestseller. To date, the memoir has sold more than three million copies worldwide.

In the book, the former “iCarly” and “Sam & Cat” star discusses her difficult upbringing as a child star. This includes battling eating disorders, addiction, and a problematic relationship with her mother. The book also details how she overcame the issues and took control of her life. The memior is still in print, available in both hardcover and paperback versions.

Jennifer Aniston Will Return to ‘The Morning Show’

Despite being cast in “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” Jennifer Aniston will continue her starring role on “The Morning Show.” The fourth season of the hit Apple TV+ show has been both greenlit and filmed. The new season will include 10 episodes as it’s set to premiere on the streamer on September 17th.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, season four of “The Morning Show” will feature a two-year time jump to 2024. Of course, Reese Witherspoon will continue on the show, but fans will also see Jon Hamm’s billionaire character. It’s unclear if the show will go beyond its fourth season.
