<p id=”par-1_27″>It’s no secret that <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/jennifer-lopezs-love-does-cost-thing-here-requirement-singer-new-man.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Jennifer Lopez</a> has had a hard time unloading the $60 million mansion she shared with her ex-husband Ben Affleck during their marriage. </p>
<p id=”par-2_49″>The former couple’s massive Beverly Hills estate went to the market in 2024, but has struggled to sell. And because the 38,000-square-foot, 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom mega-mansion had been so hard to get rid of, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/ben-afflecks-60-million-gift-jennifer-lopez-hints-exes-good-terms.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Affleck transferred his entire stake in the property</a> to Lopez after their divorce was finalized. </p>
<p id=”par-3_38″>But JLo isn’t alone when it comes to celebs finding it difficult to sell their homes. Some believe it’s due to an extremely limited pool of luxury buyers, ongoing price-slashing, and a heavy “mansion tax” in certain areas.</p>

<p id=”par-4_24″>According to celebrity real estate broker and <em>Selling Sunset</em> star Jason Oppenheim, “the cachet of celebrity ownership alone simply doesn’t hold the sway it once did.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_48″>“Celebrity homes certainly do still sell, and perhaps even at a bit of a premium,” he told <a href=”http://realtor.com/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Realtor.com</a>. “However, celebrities (and more often their business managers) can be particularly unrealistic about their initial asking prices, often causing multiple reductions and significant days on market. This perhaps creates the impression that celebrity homes don’t sell.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_16″>Here are a few other stars experiencing the problems of trying to dump their residences. </p>

<p id=”par-7_36″>Joining Lopez in the tough celebrity real estate market are Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger, who cannot offload their custom Pacific Palisades mansion. For three years, they have tried but haven’t been able to yet. </p>
<p id=”par-8_89″>The couple initially listed the residence for $32 million in 2023. The abode features nearly 13,000 square feet of living space with six bedrooms and nine-and-a-half bathrooms. However, since they haven’t been able to get a buyer, they’ve been taking it off the market before putting it back on the market with a significant price reduction. The last listed price was $19.99 million. But it didn’t sell, and so now it’s off the market again, which likely means it will pop back up soon at an even lower price.</p>
<p id=”par-9_16″>The pair and their children are currently residing at a Montecito mansion owned by Katy Perry.</p>

<p id=”par-11_38″>The Baldwins have been trying to get someone to take their Amagansett compound off their hands since 2022. The Hamptons property was originally listed for $29 million, but the price has since been dropped to $19.9 million. </p>
<p id=”par-12_40″>There was some speculation that perhaps buyers didn’t want to purchase the residence amid Alec Baldwin’s legal issues following the fatal <em>Rust</em> filming shooting accident. The <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/actors/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>actor</a> was, however, exonerated in 2025, and the home remains on the market. </p>
