
Following the tragic death of Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Jennifer Love Hewitt paid a touching tribute to the actor, whom she worked with on the hit TV series “9-1-1.”
Hewitt took to her Instagram Stories shortly after the news of Warnerâs death emerged. The “I Know What You Did Last Summer” actress shared a photo of Warner along with a touching message honoring his memory.
“This hurts my heart,” Hewitt captioned the post. “A gentleman, an incredible talent, and we were so lucky to have him in the â9-1-1â family. Heartbroken and sending love to his family.”

Warner had guest arcs on “9-1-1” in 2024, appearing in four episodes as Amir Casey. His role brought him alongside series regular Jennifer Love Hewitt, who plays dispatcher Maddie Buckley Kendall.
Over the course of his career, Warner also guest-starred on shows like “American Horror Story,” “Suits,” “Sneaky Pete,” and “Alert: Missing Persons Unit.”

Aside from Hewitt, several celebrities have expressed their grief over Warnerâs shocking death.
Actor Bill Cosby, who played Warner’s on-screen dad on “The Cosby Show” for eight seasons, remembered their time together on the show.
“He was always a great studier, and I enjoyed working with him very much,” Cosby told ABC News.
Warner’s on-screen wife on “Reed Between the Lines,” Tracee Ellis Ross, shared a heartfelt message for her “first TV husband.”
“I love you, Malcolm. First I met you as Theo with the rest of the world then you were my first TV husband,” Ross wrote on Instagram. “My heart is so, so sad. What an actor and friend you were: warm, gentle, present, kind, thoughtful, deep, funny, elegant. You made the world a brighter place. Sending so much love to your family. Iâm so sorry for this unimaginable loss.”
Taraji P. Henson took to Instagram to express sadness over the loss of an icon.
“This one hurt. Malcolm, we grew up with you,” the actress wrote. “Thank you for the art, the wisdom, the grace you gave us!!!!!” Henson added. “You left the world better than you found it. Rest easy, king!!!! Your legacy lives far beyond the screen.”
Meanwhile, Beyonce also paid tribute to the actor by updating her website in honor of Warner.
“Rest in power Malcolm-Jamal Warner,” the singer wrote. “Thanks for being a big part of our shared television history. You will be missed.”
Warner tragically passed away on July 20 after an accidental drowning at a beach in Costa Rica. He was just 54 years old, per TMZ.
