Jessica Simpson has shared the one-word reaction her That 70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher had when finding out she was a virgin at 22.
The actors appeared in the comedy show as Annette Berkhardt and Michael Kelso, respectively, who dated for a brief period in season five.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the Dukes of Hazard star, 45, watched a clip of the two characters in which Annette tells Michael she is a virgin.
Around the same time the scene was filmed, Simpson had publicly declared that she was a virgin and was saving sex until marriage.
In the new interview, Simpson shared how the Two and a Half Men actor, 47, reacted to finding out she had not had sex by the time she was in her 20s.
‘I’ll never forget telling Ashton I was a virgin,’ Simpson said. ‘He was like, “Why?”‘
‘I was like, “Because I haven’t met my husband yet.”‘
Jessica went on to marry her first husband, Nick Lachey, in 2002, but the pair split four years later.
She then wed Eric Johnson in 2014, with them sharing three children – Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, six.
Earlier this year, the couple announced their divorce after more than a decade together.
In a statement to People, Jessica said: ‘Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage.
‘Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them.
‘We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.’
Speaking about dating after splitting from the former NFL player, 46, Jessica revealed she is into ‘younger men’ in an interview last month.
She told Extra: ‘I think I’m into younger men at the moment. When you’re newly separated… I feel like younger guys kinda like the confidence of an older woman, I’m discovering.’
‘I am having fun,’ she added.
It comes after she explained the heartbreak she felt when the couple split.
‘I choose love because if I chose to be resentful or if I chose to let the pain of it overwhelm me, I would fail,’ she told Parade.
She added: ‘And so I had to choose love and loving people through their mistakes. If I’m going to love through my mistakes, I have to love others through their mistakes. And that really was probably the biggest lesson of all.’
