It came after calls mounted for her to be sacked in light of controversial statements she had made in recent weeks, including that homeless people sleeping in tents on the street is a ‘lifestyle choice.’
As news of her exit broke, comedian Joe wrote on X formerly known as Twitter: ‘Being unemployed is a lifestyle choice.’
The 35-year-old had made his feelings about Ms Braverman clear when he raised more than £50,000 for a homelessness charity following her remark.
Announcing his fundraising in an Instagram post, Lycett said earlier this month: ‘My old friend Suella Braverman has described rough sleeping as a “lifestyle choice”.

‘I always thought lifestyle choices were things such as cargo pants, fishing and decorating your bathroom with a bowl of potpourri.
‘I want to see if this image I found on Google, described as “wooden botanical fragrant potpourri bowl with lemon”, can raise £50,000 for homelessness charity Crisis UK.’
After beating his target, Lycett later posted: ‘I woke up this morning to see that a picture of a bowl of potpourri I posted just over two days ago has raised £50,000 for Crisis. A huge thank you to everyone who donated for their generosity.
‘Of course, my main thanks must go to Suella – without your lifestyle choice, of being callous and cruel towards the most vulnerable people in society, none of this would’ve happened.
‘There’s another choice coming to all of us fairly soon. It’s known as an election. Best of luck with it babe.’
Kathy Burke was equally scathing in her response to Ms Braverman’s sacking, and referenced Nigel Farage joining this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here: ‘Quick, @itv there’s another hate baiting c**t available.’
She later added: ‘First a forced resignation now a sacking. She must like being told to fuck off. Some people’s lifestyle choices are quite kinky.’
Carol Vorderman, who has vowed to continue her campaign against the Tories after being sacked by the BBC for breaching their social media guidelines, reacted to the news, writing: ‘What a SHAMBLES. We all deserve better. Suella Braverman sacked.’
Just hours before, she had tweeted of the scandal involving Ms Braverman: ‘This could not be more serious.
‘The self serving Tory party, in its desperate quest for continuing power and MP salaries, puts itself above everything…’
The former Countdown host announced she was leaving BBC Radio Wales after deciding not to adhere to their strict social media guidelines, which means remaining impartial on political issues.
In her statement, she said: ‘I’ll now increase calling out this disgusting Tory govt with facts & data which the right wing media fails to publish.’
