John Stamos Shares Good News About Dave Coulier’s Health

In November 2024, Dave Coulier announced that he had been diagnosed with stage III non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and Stamos wanted to be there for his friend. “Dave and I talk a lot,” Stamos told Us Weekly in an interview published on August 20. “You know, we lost Bob [Saget], and I couldn’t bear losing Dave, so I’ve been with him a lot during this cancer journey of his.”

Stamos commented on the good news, sharing that his friend is “100 percent back to Dave.” He continued, “It’s great to see that the treatments work and it’s great to see him out there talking about it, to help other people that are going through the same thing.”

Coulier’s decision to speak about his cancer and the subsequent treatments has helped to raise awareness.

Stamos has mourned the tragic loss of their beloved friend, Bob Saget. Saget died on January 9, 2022, as a result of head trauma. He was 65.

Stamos has reflected on Saget and how he was the glue in the friendship between the “Full House” stars, including Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Dave Coulier, Scott Weinger, Lori Loughlin, and Andrea Barber, who were all on a group text chat. Stamos told Us Weekly that Saget was “always the connector,” adding, “it took us a long time to realize that Bob wasn’t on there. I still can’t believe that he’s gone. You just gotta love people when they’re around.”

Stamos has shared his feelings about Saget’s death on multiple occasions, including on Instagram. In a heartfelt tribute posted on January 11, 2022, the “General Hospital” alum shared a photo of himself and Saget. “I’m not ready to accept that he’s gone – I’m not going to say goodbye yet,” he wrote. “I’m going to imagine him out there, still on the road, doing what he loves with all his heart and humor.”

He ended the message with a hopeful thought. “I know in my heart he’s smiling, still hearing the laughter from a few hours before,” Stamos wrote. “I’m just not ready to say goodbye yet. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe.”
