“Full House” star Dave Coulier is receiving support from his extended TV family after announcing his cancer diagnosis.
John Stamos’ Wife Shows Support for Dave Coulier
John Stamos’ wife, Caitlin McHugh Stamos, shared her love for Coulier via social media shortly after the actor announced the news of his cancer during an appearance on TODAY.
“While I do love how you use your experiences to help others, I sure hope God/the universe gives you a well-deserved break from it in the new year,” McHugh commented on Coulier’s Tuesday, December 2, post, adding two red heart emojis.
Coulier’s wife, Melissa Coulier, responded, “Exactly! No hat tricks on the cancer front!”
Dave Coulier Is Battling Tongue Cancer
The beloved TV uncle first revealed during a November 2024 episode of the “Full House Rewind” podcast that he had been battling non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Coulier now shared that he is undergoing radiation after being diagnosed with a “totally unrelated” cancer.
“I went in for a PET scan, just a routine checkup. Something flared on the PET scan, and it turned out that I have p16 squamous carcinoma at the base of my tongue,” he revealed on Tuesday, December 2.
The “Fuller House” star is currently undergoing 35 radiation treatments, which he is scheduled to complete by the end of the year.
“Itâs a whole different animal than chemo. It doesnât feel as aggressive, but there are still side effects,” he explained. “The prognosis is very good for p16 squamous carcinoma. It has a 90-plus curability rate…Early detection saved my life. Not just the first time, but the second time as well.”
Dave Coulier Beat Lymphoma
Coulier was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in October 2024 after discovering a swollen lymph node.
“This has been a really fast roller-coaster ride of a journey,” he told People at the time. âI looked at how those words affected [Melissa] and I thought, you know what, I’m going to be strong throughout this, not just for me, but I’m going to be strong for her.”
After months of grueling chemotherapy treatments, Coulier was declared cancer-free in March 2025.

During his appearance on TODAY, Coulier told Craig Melvin, “I never wanted to be the poster boy for cancer, but Iâm happy to do it.”
