Jojo Siwa has teased her fans when it comes to reacting to the rumours that she is pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Chris Hughes.
Since the duo’s appearance on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, fans have been completely transfixed by the blossoming relationship between the 32-year-old former Love Island star, and the 22-year-old Dance Moms performer.
In recent weeks, fans have speculated that the couple is expecting a child, after some noticed Chris tenderly stroking Jojo’s stomach in a recent TikTok video.
Adding fuel to the fire, Jojo decided the tease fans about the rumours and shared a video with ‘two truths and a lie’.
The caption read:’Couple of things that need to be addressed, so might as well do it with 2 truths and a lie☺️ which is the lie?’
With her new song, a cover of Kim Carnes’ song Bette Davis Eyes, blasting in the background, Jojo swivelled around on a chair as text appeared on screen.
The text read: ‘1. I’ve never smoked a [cigarette] 2. I’m pregnant 3. This song comes out on Spotify Friday.’
Fans immediately commented with some believing that she really is pregnant, and others seeing it for a a fabulous marketing ploy to promote her new song.
‘Rooting for number 3 to be the lie,’ said hammsammichhh in the comment section.
‘You Gonna be a Dance mom 👶 💃’ joked Jedward.
‘Joelle not u egging on the pregnant rumours. Youre too funny😂😭’ said chrisandjoelle.
‘She’s a marketing genius and there’s nothing anyone can do about it,’ praised Dretaio.
To clear things up in case of confusion, Jojo has famously never smoked a cigarette, and is releasing a new song on July 11. So it looks like she isn’t pregnant folks!
Jojo has been mocked for her upcoming cover of Bette Davis Eyes, with some pointing out her rasping vocals and period costume for teasing snippets of the song.
But as they say, all press is good press, and despite criticism, this might be one of the singer’s most hotly anticipated tunes.
Fans first heard a version of the song weeks ago when she rather iconically changed the lyrics to ‘Chris Hughes’ eyes’, a sweet shout out to her new boyfriend.
Initially, the relationship between the age-gap couple set tongues wagging, particularly when JoJo split with partner Kath Ebbs shortly after exiting the Big Brother house.
After going public with their relationship after weeks of rumours, JoJo has opened up about the pressures surrounding labelling her sexuality.
‘When I came out at 17, I said: “I’m pansexual, because I don’t care [about gender].” But then I kind of boxed myself in and I said: ‘I’m a lesbian.’ And I think I did that because of pressure,’ she told MailOnline.
Sharing where she felt the pressure came from, JoJo continued: ‘In a weird way, I think it came a little bit from inside the [LGBTQ] community at times. From people I know, from partners I’ve had.
‘You just get put in this world where you feel like, because you now have said, “Oh, I’m a lesbian”, you have to be a lesbian. And the truth is, sexuality is fluid.’
