The Celebrity Traitors is a show shrouded in secrecy, and BBC bosses are doing all they can to keep things under wraps.

Jonathan Ross, 64, recently admitted there were scenes cut from the BBC competition, especially ones involving Alan Carr and his hilarious moments.

In an episode of the podcast Reel Talk last week, which Jonathan hosts alongside his daughter, Honey, he said: ‘There are so many funny things he [Alan] did and said, which I know already should have been the first episode, should have been the second episode.’

He continued: ‘There’s something that happens later on that I know which should be in but isn’t in. And it’s like, there’s this Alan Carr gold waiting out there to be spun into them.’

Since making these comments, Jonathan has revealed that he was told off by bosses after speaking out of line.

In the latest podcast episode, Jonathan said that alongside other cast members, he was sent a ‘comprehensive list’ reminding him of his contract, and things that he’s ‘not allowed to talk about’.

The TV host said: ‘I didn’t realise, but I’m not allowed to talk about the stuff that’s edited out, which I can understand why.’

He went on: ‘So I’ll skirt around as much as possible and not break any rules.’

Before adding: ‘And most of it, I can see, is to protect the integrity of the game as a viewing experience for people. So it makes perfect sense.’

Metro has reached out to the BBC for comment.

Jonathan is a traitor in the series, alongside Cat Burns and Alan Carr.

So far, the three have managed to stay in the competition without being banished.

But Jonathan previously joked to his daughter that he wasn’t so confident about their chances when he saw Alan was joining the dark side.

He said: ‘Who’s the least calm person and the least strategic person you could possibly have in their group? Alan Carr.’

The comedian, 49, has shocked viewers by not being noticed as a traitor, despite his sometimes very obvious facial expressions.

Jonathan, on the other hand, has come under fire after one of the other contestants put forward a theory.

Former rugby player Joe Marler thinks Claudia has picked two ‘big dogs’ to lead the packs of faithful and traitors, and has suggested Jonathan is one of them.

The Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 9pm.
