<p id=”par-1_67″>Josh Duggar really can’t follow the rules. Despite being behind bars since 2022, he has yet to show any meaningful ability to keep his head down. Since <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/unearthed-emails-show-just-how-much-anna-duggar-resented-her-in-laws.html/”>landing at FCI Seagoville</a> in May 2022, he has been punished with demotions in the dorm, solitary confinement, and a constantly changing release date. Apparently, he has recently found his way back into solitary confinement. Here is what we know.</p>

<p id=”par-2_60″>Josh Duggar was convicted of receiving and possessing child pornography in December 2021. It took a judge several more months to settle on a sentence and a long-term housing location. When it happened, it happened quickly. By the summer of 2022, Josh had been sent to FCI Seagoville, four hours from his Arkansas home, to serve more than 12 years.</p>

<p id=”par-3_103″>It didn’t take long for him to stir up trouble. His first notable infraction behind bars came when he was reportedly <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/josh-duggar-tossed-solitary-confinement-after-breaking-prisons-cell-phone-rules-claims-source.html/”>caught with a contraband</a> cell phone. Cell phones are among the most commonly found contraband items in the federal prison system. While strictly prohibited due to the safety and security risks the devices pose, they are not the most serious contraband found in the prison system. Still, the discovery was far more serious for Joshua. Given that he was convicted of downloading child sexual abuse material on a computer, the discovery of an unauthorized phone in his possession was a significant infraction.</p>
<p id=”par-4_30″>The phone infraction resulted in a stint in solitary confinement. It also led to a change in his release date, with roughly two months deducted from his good time credits.</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-the-honors-dorm-removal-and-continued-violations”>The Honors Dorm Removal and Continued Violations</h2>
<p id=”par-5_50″>Despite the phone infraction, Duggar was later moved to an honors dorm within FCI Seagoville. The lower-security housing unit is reserved for inmates deemed to be following the rules and is considered more comfortable than other units. Despite the cozier accommodations, Josh was not motivated to keep himself in line.</p>
<p id=”par-6_58″>According to <a href=”https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/14596138/josh-duggar-kicked-out-remodeled-luxury-dorm-texas-prison/”>the U.S. Sun</a>, he was subsequently removed from the honors dorm in June 2025, and 82 days were added to his sentence, pushing his release date to December 23, 2032. What he may have done to lose the coveted housing assignment remains a mystery. The Bureau of Prisons does not comment on individual inmates’ disciplinary issues.</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-there-has-been-another-problem-recently”>There Has Been Another Problem Recently</h2>
<p id=”par-7_70″>Earlier this month, it was reported that <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/josh-duggars-federal-prison-release-date-moved-to-2033.html/”>Josh Duggar’s prison release date </a>had been pushed back another two months, with a February 2033 release date now listed by the Bureau of Prisons. While confirmation was not immediately available, it appears likely that another disciplinary issue led to further punishment for the troubled eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. His cousin Amy Duggar King has since confirmed that assessment.</p>
<p id=”par-8_53″>According to Amy, Josh has been placed in solitary confinement once more and has lost additional good time credit due to a rules violation. Amy, who shared the news on <a href=”https://www.tiktok.com/@amyrking/video/7632029483394174222″>Instagram</a>, did not reveal what Josh did to land himself back in the SHU. It is likely she doesn’t know the specifics herself.</p>

While Josh is currently housed in solitary confinement, he appeared in court via video link just weeks ago and had a statement about his younger brother, Joseph Duggar, shared through his attorney in recent weeks. Whatever went wrong likely happened within the last couple of weeks.</p>
