<p id=”par-1_19″>Former TLC personality and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/josh-duggar-complained-that-only-2-siblings-contacted-him-after-his-arrest.html/”>convicted sex offender Josh Duggar</a> is now behind bars with another infamous criminal: Joe Exotic. </p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-josh-duggar-s-appeal-denied-again”>Josh Duggar’s appeal denied, again </h2>
<p id=”par-2_60″>The one-time <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/josh-duggar-mentions-narcissists-in-leaked-email-to-anna-duggar.html/”><em>19 Kids and Counting </em>star</a> has been relocated to a federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas, after losing his latest appeal. Duggar has been trying – and so far, failing – to get his 2021 conviction for receiving child sexual abuse material overturned. He’s currently serving 12 years and has a scheduled release date of February 2, 2033. </p>
<p id=”par-3_55″>Duggar had argued that his conviction should be overturned on constitutional grounds. On June 1, a federal judge in Arkansas denied Duggar’s appeal, saying that he’d waited too long to file, <a href=”https://www.fox16.com/crime/federal-judge-denies-josh-duggars-motion-to-vacate-child-porn-conviction/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Fox 16</a> reported. Duggar blamed the prison mail system for not getting his paperwork in on time, but Judge Timothy Brooks didn’t buy it. </p>
<p id=”par-4_63″>“The Court can grant Mr. Duggar one coincidence,” Brooks said in his order. “Perhaps even two or three odd happenstances. But Mr. Duggar is asking the Court to believe something akin to a magic bullet theory — a sequential chain of events that defies common sense. Collectively, this chain of events—where Murphy’s law was lurking at every turn — is simply not credible.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_69″>While Duggar was previously locked up at FCI Seagoville in Texas, as of early June 2026 he’s incarcerated at FMC Fort Worth, according to online records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The facility is an administrative security federal medical center with a detention center that houses just over 1,500 male inmates. It’s not clear why he moved to the new facility, which is about 45 miles from Seagoville. </p>

<p id=”par-6_47″>One of Duggar’s fellow prisoners is <a href=”http://cheatsheet.com/news/kyle-maclachlan-kate-mckinnon-ferocious-joe-vs-carole.html/”><em>Tiger King </em>star Joe Exotic</a> (aka Joseph Maldonado-Passage). The former roadside zoo owner is serving 21 years after being found guilty in 2019 of a murder-for-hire plot targeting his nemesis, animal rights activist Carole Baskin, as well as various wildlife-related charges. </p>
<p id=”par-7_75″>Exotic was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2021, but that did not stop him from launching a long-shot presidential bid in 2024. In April 2025, he married fellow inmate Jorge Marquez. Soon after, Exotic began lobbying President Donald Trump for a pardon, arguing that it “<a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DWAtAARjrL9/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>would be the best press he could get</a>.” He’s also <a href=”https://people.com/joe-exotic-calls-out-trump-pardon-of-chrisleys-while-he-remains-behind-bars-11742986″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>expressed frustration</a> at being passed over while people such as <em>Chrisley Knows Best </em>stars Todd and Julie Chrisley went free. </p>
<p id=”par-8_20″>Despite his conviction, Exotic insists that he is wrongfully imprisoned. On his Instagram, he’s highlighted his work with other inmates. </p>
<p id=”par-9_75″>“At FMC Fort Worth Joe Exotic, the Tiger King has become more than an inmate- he’s a mentor, a leader and a source of hope,” reads an <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DXahzk9jihG/?hl=en” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>April 21 post</a>. “Every day he helps fellow inmates find purpose and make better choices … Joe Exotic has turned adversity into action and setbacks into service. Imagine the good he could do if he were free. It’s time to give Joe Exotic the second chance he’s earned.”</p>
