Kandi Burruss Reveals Her New ‘Journey Has Begun’ Amid Todd Tucker Split

Kandi Burruss attends the 66th GRAMMY Awards at Crypto.com Arena on February 04, 2024

Kandi Burruss is stepping into a new chapter—personally and professionally.

The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum, award-winning producer, and upcoming Broadway performer is giving fans a closer look at her life in New York City as she prepares for her role in “& Juliet.”

The update comes just days after she confirmed her divorce from Todd Tucker following more than 11 years of marriage. Despite the emotional transition, Burruss is leaning into her next act with optimism, focus and signature ambition.

On November 22, Burruss shared a series of photos on Instagram that captured her outside the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where “& Juliet” is performed. Dressed in a brick-red patent leather dress with a matching fur stole and black heeled boots, the BravoCon 2025 Wifetime Achievement Award recipient looked every bit the Broadway star she’s becoming.

“My ‘& Juliet’ journey has begun!” she wrote. “I’m excited for what’s next!”

Kandi Burruss’ Career Is Entering a New Chapter

Burruss is set to join the cast of “& Juliet” as Angélique beginning Thursday, December 11, with performances running through Sunday, March 8, 2026.

The Grammy-winning songwriter and former RHOA fan-favorite has long expressed her desire to return to the stage, and now she’s making that dream a reality.

She first announced the news on Instagram in October, sharing, “I’ve been wanting to go back to the Broadway stage for a while now & I’m so excited to join the cast of ‘& Juliet’! This is gonna be so fun. Y’all gotta come see me in NYC.”

The musical’s motto — “There’s life after Romeo” — appeared behind Burruss in her NYC photo set, an image that carries even more meaning now as she steps into a fresh start both on and off the stage.

RHOA Star Confirms Divorce From Todd Tucker but Stays Focused on Family

While her Broadway chapter is opening, another closed. Burruss confirmed to People on November 21 that she filed for divorce from Todd Tucker after more than a decade of marriage.

“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” she said. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”

On Amazon Live, she expanded on the decision, saying she and Tucker had been “hurtling towards a divorce for a while.” Still, she maintained that the split has stayed respectful and drama-free.

Sources previously told TMZ that the pair separated months earlier after growing apart, but their co-parenting has remained strong. Burruss shared that both she and Tucker were present at daughter Blaze’s sixth birthday party the day after she filed paperwork — and they still plan to spend Thanksgiving together as a family.

Burruss added that although the marriage is ending, she has no regrets about their time together. The couple met on RHOA in 2011, got engaged in 2013, and married in 2014 before welcoming two children.

“Sometimes things don’t work out,” she said. “It just is what it is.”
