Katie Price’s husband Lee Andrews is still in prison in Dubai, as he tries to gather an eye-watering £140,000 bail after being arrested on fraud allegations.

The former glamour model, 48, flew out to the UAE last week to secure her husband’s freedom, only to discover how much was needed and refuse.

Now, a fellow inmate reportedly in Al-Awir prison with the self-proclaimed businessman has made claims about exactly what he has been getting up to in prison for the past several weeks, after the mystery behind his sudden disappearance was finally uncovered.

The insider shared that Lee – who has previously been accused of being a compulsive liar – was reportedly bragging about how ‘he was arrested in the middle of an arms deal near the Abu Dhabi border when authorities moved in and snared him.

‘After that, Lee said he was taken to another place and kept in a dark room for days. He said he saw no daylight,’ they added to The Sun.

The source noted that ‘not everyone thinks he’s credible’ with inmates sharing stories about what lines up and what doesn’t, calling him a ‘strange man’.

Elsewhere, he’s reportedly been claiming wife, Katie, plans to ‘give him the cash’, although recent reports also suggest he has begged her to set up a GoFundMe, which she also declined to do.

And while he waits for the money to materialise, he has supposedly been spending his days ‘watching horror movies like Saw and The Conjuring’ and ‘going to the gym’.

The insider also claimed he had been bragging to Katie about growing close to suspected crime boss Daniel Kinahan, but the source said their interactions ‘have been fleeting at most’.

As for his hopes for Katie to deliver the money he needs, she herself told The Sun it was out of the question in a new interview.

The reality star told the publication: ‘I’ve made it clear to Lee, I will never give him money, I’ll never give a man money, I’ve done it all my life, I’ve always been the breadwinner.

‘My divorces, I’m the one that always has to give. I said to Lee I’ll never do it.’

The pair met in January, when they tied the knot after a whirlwind romance – although the truth behind Lee’s professional and personal life has been put under scrutiny since the very beginning.

While he languishes in prison, a member of the public has claimed Lee attempted to scam them after they jokingly offered to invest £5,000 into his dissolved business Aura over a Facebook message where he was told he was messaging ‘Andrews’ assistant.
