Keira Knightley and husband James Righton looked every inch the happy couple as they made a rare public appearance together at Wimbledon, just months after speculation swirled over the state of their marriage.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star, 41, arrived at the All England Club hand in hand with the former Klaxons musician, 42, before taking their seats on Centre Court for Friday’s men’s semi-final action.

The affectionate outing comes around three months after the pair appeared to silence rumours they had separated.

Earlier this year, fans began speculating that there could be trouble in paradise after James was photographed without his wedding ring and Keira quietly reverted to using her maiden name, Knightley, on official Companies House documents.

The change prompted a wave of online speculation, particularly as the actress had previously been listed under her married name, Keira Christine Righton, on filings connected to her production company, KCK Boo Ltd.

However, representatives later clarified the move had nothing to do with her marriage, explaining that recent identity verification rules meant company records needed to match the name on her official identification documents rather than her married surname.

In April, the rumours appeared to be put to rest when both Keira and James were once again spotted wearing their wedding bands during a public outing.

Friday’s appearance only added to the impression that the couple remain very much united, with the pair smiling, chatting and holding hands as they made their way into the famous tennis grounds.

Keira embraced classic Wimbledon style in a white Ralph Lauren pussybow midi dress, paired with strappy sandals, tortoiseshell sunglasses and a matching white clutch.

James complemented her look in a light grey suit worn over a pale pink shirt with cream Gucci loafers.

The actress appeared completely absorbed by the action on Centre Court as Britain’s Arthur Fery took on Germany’s Alexander Zverev.

Although the British hopeful eventually bowed out in four sets, Keira was among those enthusiastically cheering him on throughout the match, at one stage leaping from her seat in celebration before exchanging reactions with fellow actor Richard E. Grant, who was sitting nearby.

The appearance also offered another glimpse into one of Hollywood’s most private marriages.

Knightley and Righton began dating in 2011 before marrying in the south of France two years later. They share two daughters, Edie, 10, and Delilah, six, and have largely kept their family life away from the spotlight.

Despite adopting James’ surname on some official documents after their wedding, Keira admitted years ago that she had hesitated over changing her name personally.

‘I went to do the passport thing because I was thinking, “Shall I do it? It will be helpful”,’ she said in a 2014 interview.

‘But you actually have to see it written down, and I found I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t go there. Yet.’

The couple were among a host of famous faces soaking up the sunshine at Wimbledon, with temperatures climbing above 30C as celebrities flocked to Centre Court ahead of the day’s headline clash between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner.

For Keira and James, though, the biggest talking point wasn’t the tennis.

After months of rumours, the pair appeared more interested in enjoying a summer afternoon together than paying any attention to the gossip surrounding their marriage.
