Somehow, Kelly Clarkson still gets starstruck. The singer sat down with actress Goldie Hawn for the “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and wasn’t shy about letting the “Overboard” actress know what a big deal it was for her.
“This is the highlight of my life!” exclaimed the “American Idol’ winner. “I’m not kidding! I’m such a fan.”
Clarkson Highlights the Versatility of Hawn’s Talents
“You’re such a great actor. You’re a great singer. You’re hilarious. Your comedic timing,” rhapsodizes Clarkson. “You’re all the things!”
Hawn, meanwhile, took it all in with a laugh. repeating, “I’m all the things!”
The list went on, with the “American Idol” winner letting the screen legend, 80, know she’s “hot as hell.”
“The Voice” judge’s fans agree, with one commenting, “Goldie IS THE Queen as far as I am concerned.” Another gave a shoutout to Hawn’s sketch comedy chops, writing, “Youâre definitely all the things Goldie. Iâve been admiring you since Laugh In.”
Goldie Hawn Always Knew Kate Hudson Would Follow in Her Footsteps
Clarkson went on to gush about Hawn’s family tree, commenting that many of the “First Wives Club” actress’s loved ones have appeared on that very same couch. Entertainment is the family business.
“You have your children, you raise your children, you see what they can do,” remarks Hawn of her brood’s choice to follow in their famous parents’ footsteps.
Hawn has two children with musician Bill Hudson, actors Kate and Oliver. The couple divorced in 1982, and the next year, she began dating actor Kurt Russell. The two famously vowed never to marry, choosing instead to let their relationship stand the test of time, and it has. They share a child, Wyatt Russell, an actor and professional hockey player who Clarkson declares she still needs to get on the show.
“Kate was always going to be something. There was no doubt about it,” says Hawn of her Oscar-nominated daughter. “She’s three years old. She says, ‘Let’s take a picture!’ and she’s on her bicycle, and she goes ‘Hi!’”, at which point Hawn mimics her daughter hamming it up for the camera.
Clarkson doesn’t have much time left to get Wyatt on the show. The singer announced in February that she plans to end her talk show to spend more time with her kids following the loss of their father, talent agent Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson’s ex-husband passed away in August 2025 following a private battle with cancer.
âStepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,â Clarkson said in an Instagram post announcing the end of the talk show. âThis isnât goodbye. Iâll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on âThe Voiceâ from time to time ⦠you never know where I might show up next.â
The final episodes of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will air in fall 2026.
